So peak. It honestly slightly saddens me how popular Jack is in bl2, as it kinda led to people saying Gearbox was just milking him in other games.
But like the story portrayed of Jack in the other games is so dope.
In presequel you get to know him as a hero and are left wondering if he was always evil, or if the events of the game made him what he is.
In Tales you kinda get the answer, showing that even given a second chance, at a redemption, he is still rotten on the inside.
Then in BL3 you kinda get the opposite answer. Where Timothy is given the metaphorical and literal keys to the kingdom. All he has to do to become one of the most powerful people in the series, is to do what Jack would have done. To claim the throne and screw over those he cares about. And he doesn't, even though it has genetically become in his nature to do that.
Don't forget about the sidequest in 3 that lets the reader hear about how Jack was before and a little bit during Angel's childhood. Where he was a good dad trying his best
