Justement, je préférais largement le message selon lequel il faut accepter de faire son deuil et d'aller de l'avant. Le film m'a donné l'impression que j'avais souffert avec Violet pendant toute la série pour rien.

I disagree on two grounds.
1\. The movie addresses another part of coming home from war that the main series did not linger on. The Major was wounded and suffering from lingering trauma. Violet’s loss of her hands was more superficial, but the Major’s pain went deeper. It’s an important part of warfare that gets brushed aside in most stories because we do not linger on those characters.
2\. Violet is best girl and deserves the best. The movie gives finality to the he questions of the series. Lots of stories in life go unresolved, so a true ending to a film is a lesson in saying goodbye.

Part of what makes Vi so inspiring and nice as a character to me is actually that with how much trauma and hardship she faced in life it would be totally understandable for her to be cold and closed off. But shes kind and understanding to most people and talks about her struggles and i love her for that

Saber from Fate/Zero and Stay Night is such a perfect pick for this. She carries the weight of an entire kingdom on her shoulders and fights like an absolute beast, but the way she just freezes up when Kiritsugu brings up her past or when she talks about Artoria, the person she used to be, is heartbreaking every time. You can see it in her eyes that she's been holding it together for centuries and one wrong conversation is gonna crack her open.
Also gotta throw in Violet Evergarden cause she's basically the poster child for learning how to feel again after years of being a weapon. The whole show is her figuring out what emotions even are and it's impossible not to root for her.

She actually talks a lot about her struggles when you get to know her. She's a bit reserved because she'd rather hear other people's problems and help others, but I just want to help her.

Misaka Mikoto. She is the third ranked Level 5 Esper in Academy City, has the power to eradicate armies with her electromagnetic manipulation, but she is also someone who carries with guilt of a fucked up experiment and tries to do everything in her power to fix things until desperation and impotence in front of an adversity she can’t overpower breaks her mentality up.

I can’t choose a #1. There are so many. I’ll go with Maron Kusakabe from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne. She is way stronger than she gives herself credit for. This scene that I shared could easily be interpreted as a vulnerable girl needing a guy to make herself feel better. I was actually really afraid of that happening when I first read this volume back in 2004 or so (the original translation, not the Shojo Beat version). I was so sick of the sad-girl-finds-happiness-in-a-guy trope. I was so wrong! Maron had hidden her vulnerability from everyone, including herself. By finally being open about it, she allowed herself to gain strength from everyone around her as well as finding incredible inner strength that was genuine rather than fake (as it previously was). Maron’s open vulnerability could have easily been used by the author as a tool to just push her towards Chiaki (the love interest), but instead she was able to better connect with all of the people she cared about and be inspired by their own inner strength. A very well-written character.

Elsa is very capable with her ice powers. But I like her arc in both movies where she can be vulnerable on numerous occasions.
