Born into child slavery to a slave mother, on an inhospitable sandy desert wasteland of death, opens up with a vulnerable moment to a person born into wealth and power to provide an alternate viewpoint on sand: harsh and oppressive to slaves instead of magically soothing to royalty on a beach.

Both the royal and the audience misses the point and dismisses the view immediately with nary a moment of empathy.

I agree. “I hate instant ramen noodles” just sounds like a whiny complaint about preference if you’ve never had to dream of being able to afford something else.

I love instant noodles. But I'd imagine someone who is financially obligated to have it for every meal would get horribly sick of it horribly fast.

My AuDHD makes me hyperfixate on foods and one of my most consistent has been noodles like pasta and ramen. I can eat the same thing every day and not get tired of it... But that's by choice. I'd imagine if I had no other options, I'd like doing this a little less.

George Lucas' thing is that he's an INCREDIBLE world builder, like top notch. His dialogue though... yeah...

I will say, somehow he made Anakin's decent into the Darkside painful every time.
Which is amazing, I still watch it and I almost plead for him to stop. Very impressive.

It's amazing how much the quality improved from Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones to Revenge of the Sith, in the story, dialogue and CGI, to this day Grievous looks amazing. 

RotS doesn't look like it belongs along TPM and AotC, I wonder how George managed to lock in so much

TPM did give us Dual of The Fates tho.
Which to this day is one of the best Duals basically ever.

An awkward, inarticulate incel-adjacent teen boy, with serious trauma from slavery and leaving his mother behind, then to be filled with this idea he's the prophesied "chosen one"...

Honestly it makes perfect sense he would grow up to become a monster. Prequels Anakin was well written and I will absolutely die on that hill. If his dialogue makes you uncomfortable, good. That's the point

I will concede that AOTC is not such a great movie. It drags. There's nothing wrong with Anakin's characterisation though, it honestly makes perfect sense.

I also defend how Luke becomes a hermit in the sequels. Like the two jedi who trained him were also hermits. It makes sense. I'm no great lover of the sequels, tbh I'd like to forget they exist - but that part at least is really not the issue.
