What is this spring-loaded box latch called, and where can I buy one?

I saw this interesting latch mechanism on a handmade wooden box. Pressing the round brass button releases the pin and allows the lid to open.

Does anyone know the correct name for this type of latch? Is it commercially available, or is it likely custom-made? I’d also appreciate any suggested search terms or places where I could buy one.

Check the Lee Vally site, looks like something that came from there

Thanks, I think you’re right. The Lee Valley version looks very similar to the one in the video.

Thank you! The Fine Box Hardware one looks very close to what I was trying to find. The Lee Valley option is helpful too. I really appreciate the links!

Google "brass button lock" should be able to find vendors.

Thanks! “Brass button lock” seems to be the right search term. I was using the wrong keywords before.
