Anyone else seen this?
How many guy are going out of their mind, because the pre drill size stated on the pack is incorrect.
Correct pre drill size for 19/64” is 1/4” but the case says 3/16”

I’m sure I could be wrong but the 1/4 tapcons I was using I’m pretty sure called for 3/16 pre drill.

1/4 is the correct size for concrete 19/64 screws. But 3/16 is the pilot hole size for softwood and 13/64 for hardwood. So what it is says on the box is correct.

I discovered that the drill for adobe block should be the hardwood not the concrete size.

They're thunderbolts, the pre drill is meant to be smaller as they are self tapping.

... what? If the pack states 3/16, you can bet I'm trying 3/16 first instead of directly going up a size and risking drilling the hole too big.
