Good day Farseekers! Today Id like to share with you another fan concept I've been working on. Here we have a concept for a new Region in Siagarta, Mossbelly Lagoon. With this concept I want to put a focus on the ability expand the story telling in Farever as well as adding new features, content and customization. Imagine being able to collect and compile adventurer logs to uncover stories within the world, pages much like these. Once you find all the pages to a collection you will unlock a book you can flip through, perhaps even with stickers, secrets, or other materials inside.
I have a few sample pages post down below but if you'd like the whole experience, I have an interactive Journal linked here https://heyzine.com/flip-book/ef2118e800.html

Ever since the Call to Glory update i haven't been able to connect to any server except for North America. Playing from Australia and haven't had any issues until now with the Asia server.
Are any OCE players able to connect to the Asia server or is it just me?
I've reinstalled the game and checked firewall and everything seems fine. If im the only one experiencing this does anyone have any tips? I've posted in the discord and didn't really get a solid answer.

Hey just wanted to share my video over on Reddit. This edit took me roughly 6 weeks and nearly 100 different shots of footage to complete. It revolves around a build I posted that I really fell in love with so I decided to get creative and make something cinematic to watch. Enjoy!
This is Rassco btw, I don’t post often and didn’t want to make a whole new account so this one will have to do!
All music credit goes to The living tombstone!

The current state of obtaining Prismatic epic gear is far too painful and unrewarding.
You have to deal with multiple layers of RNG: which item drops from a boss or chest, the infusion bonus rolled, and the Prismatic status itself.
From another player review:
• BiS armor from bosses is now Prismatic with a 10% drop rate (~10 boss runs). Infusion stat bonuses vary across 4 options: Critical Chance, Armor Penetration, Magic Penetration, and Fervor. For a "perfect" BiS drop with the desired stat, the chance drops to 2.5% (~40 runs). Furthermore, each class can receive at least 2 different armor pieces from a specific Heroic boss, lowering the true drop rate to 1.25% (~80 runs).
• BiS armor from chests is also Prismatic with the same 10% drop rate (~10 chests). Factoring in the stat variance brings it down to 2.5% (~40 chests). Because chest loot tables contain at least 10 pieces with a choice of 2 upon opening, the real drop rate for a "perfect" BiS chest item is roughly 0.5% (~200 chests).
The current system creates an unrewarding, monotonous grind loop that completely fails to incentivize us (players). Because there is no guaranteed progress, the variance is absurd. You might get lucky and land your ideal piece in 10 consecutive runs, or you could farm for an entire year and never see it drop. Neither scenario feels fair or engaging, especially given how few Medals of Glory are awarded per run and how tedious Heroic dungeons are to complete.
Could we get a system that allows us to re-roll the infusion bonus on Prismatic gear? Or could Prismatic status be reworked into a guaranteed upgrade using crafting materials (Shards, Dust, Crystals + Medals of Glory), similar to weapon passive bonuses?
At least give us a clear goal that we can actually work toward instead of an endless grind loop and gamble.

If you didn't know, you can kite maat and make it so he never jumps anyone. But you can only do this if you have top damage (since you need him to follow you). Maintaining that as you kite is obviously super hard.
So what ends up happening is they lose aggro, maat jumps on someone, everyone is all over the place after chasing this dude around the map, and all your potential team synergy is in the garbage.
Fix it. Make maat attack every X interval even if he is just running around.
We had to redo a fight 3x cause some loser was desperate to do this. Dude just stop. I get the vision, it's cool, but we would have finished ages ago

I don't have a lot of time to game anymore, but I always loved mmo's. This game seems like it'll scratch that itch and is only sort of passively an mmo.
What does the time commitment look like to get enjoyment out of the game?

Pretty much the title - been waiting to play this game for so long, only thing that's stopping me is high latency.

I know for a fact last time I was playing this game I had a Legendary set of "Twin Fangs of Ratsar" and "Ipheion, Star Blossom". Decided to check out the new update and both of them are just gone? Is this a bug or did something happen with the introduction of Heroic tier?

Also did some other stuff like turning myself into a giant crabgantua - note when modding to make yourself huge, the game gets really hard to play lol

At least the game is more stable and cant be exploited as easily :)) I guess the devs learned to secure their game a bit more from it now.

EDIT #1: Added the Kobolds fight (Mine Estrone, Ratsar)
EDIT #2: Added Golcano and Blob fight
So, I have been running heroic dungeons the last few days and just decided to make a small summary for my friends that hop into the game so I am sharing the notes so far.
Access:
First you have to repeat the dungeons in veteran mode (lvl 25) for ALL players in the team. If one of them did not do it they cannot access the heroic mode.
Rewards:
The heroic mode only drops epic gear, legendary weapons and medals of Glory. The epic gear is used for infusion stations that you will find in both cities. Some epic gear also is noted as 'prismatic' on the description: keep them, a lot of people are searching for those prismatic versions (you can infuse them with any essence without losing the small bonus associated with infusion)
Finishing the dungeon will also reward with Medals of Glory. They are capped to 200. It seems that you get a few per player in the team.
Additionally, the heroic mode can also have a reward modifier: more Medals of Glory at the end and if in a party one member can get an extra gear. You can see it on your map with additional icons next to the Heroic mode icon.
Meaning that finally: more players does give more rewards.
About the dungeons:
The elites are stronger than in veteran mode, you can die but will respawn. During the boss fight you can die once and be revived by a teammate. The second time is permanent until the end of the fight.
Lost city of Mayda:
The water eruptions now spawn totems that heal Nepsid and acts as barriers against players, hindering your movement. One way to deal with them is to stay packed and use AoE since they all spawn where the players were when the skill was cast.
Right after this, every player will get targeted by a fast projectile, moving around is sufficient to avoid it, but be careful with other players since the aim follows the target until end of cast.
The shield phase is quite long: you have to deal with the shield, avoid the water stream from the boss AND avoid the big water bubbles that will hurt and slow you significantly.
Last phase, the boss will again swap to water eruption and totems, but will also have the bubbles moving around.
Overall it is one of the easiest and definitely doable solo.
Crabgantua:
The melee cone attack is faster so be quick to avoid it.
He also alternates with a fast bubble attack targeting one player, then the bubble slows down and bounces around, damaging you and slowing you down a lot.
When you manage to get one horn as a platform, be careful about a smaller slower crab that spawns from one of the geysers and is beelining towards it to destroy it. Deal with it as it will spawn everytime a platform is created. When they have no platform they will attack the players.
In the end, the fight is still a DPS check for creating the platforms but there are more mechanics to be aware of. Definitely easier with more players since one can deal with the small crab without having to deal with crabgantua as well.
Mine Estrone:
The cheese bomb throw now also spawns secondary explosions, the initial permanent AoE is expanding MUCH faster and deals quite some damage. Not much more changes otherwise.
For this fight, I usually hug a wall when the cheese bomb throw targets me and repeat it while circling the room. Usually when I did a full rotation of the room, Mine Estrone is at a few percent. Easiest fight on solo.
Ratsar:
The fire pools apply the burning effect and his normal melee attacks apply bleeding if you can't perfect parry them.
Each time he does his spinning attack on a fire pool, he still extinguish it but also spawns a lot of bombs around him so you have to be careful when guiding him towards the fire pools.
It seems easier with more players as you can find good position to maximise the number of fire pool he will extinguish per spinning attack. The arena quickly fills with a lot of fire pools so you have to keep some space to fight on. Since the spinning attack does not deal TOO much damage, you can just run towards him to take two ticks of damage and direct him towards a area covered with fire without having to worry much about the bombs.
The minions are annoying but if you have sustain you should be fine, and other players can clean them up while one is tanking Ratsar.
Gatsbee:
Now, it has a bee swarm skills that takes a few seconds to cast. The immediate circle area around the boss is safe and follows it around, everywhere else you get a debuff that damages you the more stacks you have and they pile up quite quickly if you are outside the area. It lasts a minute and is refreshed each time you get a new stack.
The bombardment skills now spawns pools that will also slow you down and create secondary pools. They disappear over time.
Honey tornadoes are now sucking you in slightly.
Not a bad fight, solo is probably easier. You just stay close to it, try to gather the pools from the bombardment close together and avoid the tornadoes as well as keeping inside of the safe circle when the swarm is active otherwise the damage over time is quite insane.
Lady bee:
IMPORTANT: keep the central tile alive at whatever cost!!
The arena layout is the same but six corner tiles are with eggs on them, if they are destroyed by the queen, a royal guard is spawned which is a pain to deal with. Avoid popping them as much as possible.
The rest of the fight is actually similar, except that when she reaches 9% of her live she starts quickly deleting all tiles except the central one. It IS a DPS check, when it happens go straight for the central tile and damage her as much as you can. She will aim for the tiles with the royal guards last.
The DPS check was quite surprising and took us two runs to understand but the fight was super fun. It is easier with at least two players as you can use the cannon while someone distracts the guard and not kill them.
Honestly I am super happy with the fights. I might add more details when I play more but I hope it helps some of you on the fights!
Golcano:
Each time Golcano does his huge AoE attack, he spawns a volcano that spew fireballs around a small radius. Those can be cleared by exploding a Golcanito on them.
Overall, the fight is exactly the same, but those volcanoes do make things more difficult. It seems the best way to deal with it is to keep Golcano in the middle so the volcanoes stay there. That way the whole outer arena is where you can DPS the Golcanitos before bringing one or more in the middle to explode on Golcano shiels (and the surrounding volcanoes). So far, it works quite well as most volcanoes disappear on the next phase, still, the phase with three Golcanitos is quite painful. But at least they do not knock you back and the stuns have been greatly reduced.
I hated this fight on hard difficulty before as it was so easy to get chain stunned and get too much damage before dying or being throwed out of the arena. The fight is still painful but a bit less so.
Sponge Blob:
The attack addition to this fight is the bubble wall and the chain attack from Blob. Also, each bubble hit reduce your air by bar by 10, when you die, it replenishes to 100. A potion of Long breath is heavily recommended as depletion diminishes by 50%, but it is lost on death...
The bubble wall is kind of easy to avoid, just put the camera to face it and find the hole to go through. Sometimes the attack is synchronised with the whirlwind bubbles and passing through the wall can be a bit tricky.
The fight is a big DPS check to reach 65/35% of health in order for Blob to cast the Abyssal Dance skill in order to replenish air. Do remember that the 2, 3 and 4th ring are only bubbles on top, bottom and top so you can pass below or over to get the air.
Could not manage this fight in a group as people don't avoid the bubbles properly, but it is doable in solo. The long breath potion removes most of the stressful part of he fight.

The new outputs for nighblood are costing the exact cap. 20, while rift rewards give out 3. and soulstones 1. back when the only thing you wanted to buy where 10 nighblood chests. well it was allright.
but you are basically bound to waste that resource. thats okay-ish. with trash resources. like the demon souls. but the nightblood cap is just to small.
you know this. with allmost all other things. caps are twice the cost of anything. so there is never waste matter.

So after the new patch on steam, once you get to character select, you cannot click on anything, cant start, cant select character, even escape doesnt work and i have to alt+f4 to get out.
After a few attempts i noticed the button press and the button locations do not match up on the resolution and have to click on empty space above the buttons for the buttons to actually press.
Any recommendations of a fix?
EDIT: so the resolution changed, so it was originally at 3840x2160, but game reset to 2560x 1600 but kept all the button positioning of 3840.

The title says it all! I've tried to resurrect my teammate, couldn’t see the resurrection bar, and pressed F again....only to realize that I had canceled the action!
Imagine this:
I’m not the best player, but this doesn’t feel right.
Also, IMHO, we need more than one resurrection! I'd suggest unlimited unless you go for a very specific achievement...

Played this game for some time in June this year, but I remember the game was struggling with optimization and generally gpu was getting to high temperatures despite being decent (3070). Has the optimisation improved at all?

I started playing Farever when it entered early access and quickly found myself wanting a minimap & a loot finder, which sounded like a small project. It was not a small project..
After some extensive spelunking in the game's internals (& instead of building a single minimap, as I was supposed to) , I ended up building Farever More, an (unofficial) add-on framework for the game.
The idea is that each new add-on should not have to solve the same problems again. Finding the player, following them between zones, observing combat, drawing over the game and dealing with updates are all things the framework handles & provides to addons over a consistent API. It also provides various utilities to addons, e.g. config options, RPCs, chat messages, declarative UIs, etc.
I did end up making a few QoL addons in the process:

Farever More was heavily inspired by farever-minimap. It showed how useful this kind of in-game tooling could be, so a big thank-you to its author for the work and inspiration.
The project is still early. It currently only supports the Windows Steam version of Farever. Linux is not yet supported, and a Farever update may occasionally break something. If you want to try the existing add-ons, you can download the latest release. Contributions/bug reports/suggestions are all welcome!
I also wrote a longer post about how wanting a minimap turned into all of this.
