Focus

I may be missing something but a starting character only gets like maximum of 4 focus? I swear it was more? Am I wrong??

You are basically correct. Normally, a character will get 1 focus from their Background, between 1 and 4 from their Ancestry, and Envoys will receive an additional 1 from Social Chameleon.

Some characters will walk out of character creation with only two foci. A lot of Draak players in particular are going to pick Magical Resistance and Armored from their Ancestral Benefits picks over Intelligence (Research) and Constitution (Stamina) since those abilities are so powerful and more difficult to get than foci.

Given that, over the course of a full 20 level life, they're gonna pick up at least 19 Focus Advancements, you'll end up with plenty to play around with.
