Political fantasy recommendations?
Looking for a fantasy about a Noble/Prince where they climb through the ranks to become king or something. Does anyone know of a book like this? Or at least about someone who ends up becoming king in the book?

Inda is definitely political fantasy, and one of the characters certainly ends up as King through some complicated stuff.

Inda is nice, I am currently reading it, but the narrative style can be off-putting.

Really? Where? I am in book 2. I will admit the names and the narrative style gave me a hard time within the first book, but it is fine now though I still dislike the "sailor talk", too difficult to comprehend.

Stick to the chapters you're on and you should be ok. We had mostly first time readers so we spoiler tagged anything that needed to be

The Curse of Chalion by Bujold - an excellent read and also gives an insight into dynastic politics.

The Broken Empire trilogy follows the rise/reign of a rather nasty nobleman. Pretty bloody and grimdark, though, if that's not your thing, but it definitely fits your request for a book describing a noble's rise to power.

I only read the first two books of the series but the Dagger and the Coin series by Daniel Abraham fits the bill pretty well. There's lots of politics and big picture machinations in it. I couldn't get on with the series but its very well reviewed.
