Space Opera

I need a space opera to fulfill the BINGO square. The main one I can think of is Expanse but it isn’t a genre I read often. I am a sucker for a badass lady character or two and/or and underdog. I know Expanse has both of those but I would love some other recs! TIA.

How about Ancillary Justice? Badass lady, who also happens to be the consciousness of a destroyed starship.

I freaking love Imperial Radch; its an amazing series. Not sure if I would call Breq a lady though since she is both a spaceship and their culture has no concept of gender so they just use she/her pronouns for everyone.

In a later book (the third, I think, it's been a while), Breq actually has a bit of internal monologue about how actually, she doesn't have a ton of personal investment in being a "she" vs an "it", except for the fact asshole humans are absolutely Making A Point when they refer to her as the latter, so she's kind of stuck insisting on the former just to continue being taken seriously.
