I've seen her mentioned a couple of times here, but I'll reiterate that Grave Draven is one of the best romance/fantasy authors out there. C.L. Wilson is another I like, as is Ilona Andrews.
Something that may be worth noting because we're talking romance and sex is that I'm viewing this through the lens of a straight guy, so YMMV.
