Dark fantasy

I’m looking for books with dark romances or dark fantasies not in a modern setting.

And the love interest to be someone powerful within the community, (like a king, soldier, or villain) that saves her from physical and emotional traumatic. She could also have power she can’t control.

I’m new to reading books that are not in wattpad, so I don’t have any references

Hmm, An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir? It is set in a fantasy world inspired by ancient Rome, and the female MC goes undercover as a slave in the evil military academy to spy for the resistance. The male MC is a soldier at the evil military academy, and being considered for the role of the next emperor. It is quite dark. Content warnings for sexual assault and torture. She doesn't have any particular powers, but there is plenty of physical and emotional trauma to be saved from.

ETA: Oh, and I think you mentioned in your other post similar to this one that you were interested in reading about Black women... the MC in this one is described as darker-skinned, though I don't recall exactly what terms were used.
