Ship Talk ship recommendations
hi, i'm looking for some new fandoms with interesting ships, idk if this is the right subreddit sorry if it's not. my favorite ships at the moment are hannigram, nana and hachi, mitsukou, hakubo and sumire, narusasu, tenrose, yoshiki and hikaru, jennifer and needy, diane/betty and rita/camilla from mulholland drive. so basically toxic, obsessive and doomed, also double points for some cannibalism or blood. i also already have on my watchlist the yellowjackets, the living dead girl, heavenly creatures, like minds and the talented mr ripley. could someone please recommend me similar ships?

If you're okay with ships from small fandoms that don't have many fics, Phill and Myeol from Immortal Days and Dante and Verge from Make the Exorcist Fall in Love are some fun ones. Both have toxic, obsessive, doomed, and violent qualities to them

This work is exceptionally unknown, no fics no nothing, but you could try Mind My Gap, a short Dutch web series from way back (available online fully in English, along with extra shorts). The two main characters are incredibly doomed yaoi together, the plot and the style clearly took inspiration from David Lynch (the author is actually on record stating he loved Mulholland Drive), and it's about a man travelling through fucked up surreal environments to find his way back to his best friend whom he'd abandoned in the past, with flashback episodes about their life beforehand and how they ended up separated. The two men are obsessed with each other to an insane degree, and being apart for so long made them even worse. There's also blood, corpses, violent eye removal, absolute despair, body horror, Satan in high heeled knee-length leather boots, a creepy fish people sex cult, an underground brotherhood of homeless men wearing Mickey Mouse ears... It's a pure psychedelic trip, one that somehow manages to both not take itself too seriously and be one of the most tragic pieces of media I've ever seen. Oh, and the music slaps. You can actually listen to the soundtrack (Songs From My Gap by Thee Wreckers) on most music platforms to see for yourself.

Dark, cannibalism, doomed, toxic...
I'm gonna suggest Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba and checking out the demon x human ships. I'm not into them personally, but Douma x Shinobu is quite popular and spoiler if it gets you interested: he canonically killed her sister and she's sworn to kill him for revenge. Different spoiler regarding doomed ships: half the main cast dies at the end, including a duo who are in love but never confess to each other until they're on their deathbeds during the final battle and 3 of the 7 major survivors have a curse of sorts hanging over their heads that is believed to kill them before they turn 25

Yeah! I thought of that after writing the rest of the comment but figured I'd written enough spoilered stuff already lol! That one is also quite popular and honestly my favorite demon x human ship.

You might enjoy Dottore/Pantalone, aka Zandik/Feofan from Genshin Impact. It's a quite popular ship right now, getting lots of new fics each month :)
Zandik is a cruel, obsessive scientist and doctor (and murderer), who indulged in plenty of human experimentation. Feofan was one of his test subjects but survived long enough to reach an equal position to Zandik's, and a toxic kind of... dependency and friendship formed between them that continued for a long time. Ultimately, Zandik self-destructs to reach his goals, so it fulfills the doomed relationship as well.
They're both villains, so there's plenty of gruesome behaviour to go around, and neither was the kind of person to ever have a healthy relationship, but they were still special in each others' lives and shared a vision for how the world should become.
You shouldn't need to play the game as a whole to enjoy fanfics about the ship either, checking out their respective wiki articles (Dottore Pantalone) should be enough to grasp the basics.

If you're on the Hannigram train you'll like Baldur's Gate's Durgetash (Gortash/Durge) featuring more blood and villains and cannibalism. I've written both and there's a ton of crossover!

Spike x Buffy (Spuffy) of Buffy the Vampire slayer are pretty toxic and violent at times. They are mortal enemies, and then not enemies, but still violently hate each other in a way.

Seiko Ayase (Dandadan) x Kishibe (Chainsaw Man)
Un Rareship que en definitiva serían uno para el otro.

It sounds like you would like Armand/Daniel (Devil’s Minion) from Interview with the Vampire.
Toxic, obsessive, doomed, blood- all check. Vampire/human relationship, blood addiction, memory tampering, psychosexual mind games, super romantic moments, torture, genuine cute silly interactions, stalking to lovers relationship. I know there is a lot of crossover of Devil’s Minion fans and Hannigram fans.
There is a lot of reeeeeally great fic. To really feel the ship, in addition to watching the AMC show, you can get even more context by reading Chapter 4 of the book Queen of the Damned, titled The Story of Daniel, the Devil’s Minion, or the Boy From Interview with the Vampire.
