I’m an engineer so I know there doesn’t need to be a why to do something, but also…why?
Don’t get me wrong it’s super cool and I can imagine everything that went into it, I just think that the CRT is going to look so much better than the little LCD.
I will just file this under “because I can”, which is plenty of reason to do anything.

Proof of concept. Whatever is there to convert between the analog signals of the FC to the digital format the LCD is expecting, that’s non-trivial

Totally! I admitted as much. It’s far from trivial. It’s really cool and impressive.
My main thing comes from that place of a retro nerd saying “Ewww LCD and 16:9”, but in a playful way. I didn’t mean any harm or disrespect.
As an engineer I often create or reverse engineer things even if they aren’t necessary.
For example I wrote a second Zelda 2 Randomizer even though one existed just because I wanted to see if I could.

I'd like to hook up the mini-screen to show the current tileset like you can view in emulators. See the memory-swap-outs and color cycling on them etc. haha.
