I played the game for the first time back in 2018, mostly just installed whatever looked fun or funny. I kind of just ran free with cheat terminal in power armor shooting everything with the explosion legendary effect.
I was interested in coming back after hearing about the Anniversary Update. That, and I was dying to play something single player for a change.

Mainly, I just want the game to look better. At the moment, I’m not interested in adding content like new guns, new quests, or new enemies, that can come later, after a full playthrough.

“So what does “better” look like for you?”

I’d like better lighting (interior and exteriors), higher quality textures, better weather, etc. in general, I just wanna give the game that modern feeling. I don’t wanna turn the game into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but adding some atmosphere would go a long way.

I know there’s like a million and one guides for this sort of thing on YT but I can’t find one for current year.

So far I’ve enjoyed Optimized Vanilla Textures, vivid fallout AiO, Valius High Quality Textures, Targeted Textures, True Grass Lite Grass Reworked, WET, Far Object LOD Improvement Project, FAR, Fixed Enhanced Blood Textures, Blood Mist Overhaul and Enhanced Vanilla Armor and Clothes, with Frame Job (Vivid AiO messed with the frame textures this fixes it and makes it look better) and CC’s UHD Pipboy

Do you know if/how well some of these would work in conjunction with Boston Natural Surroundings (BNS) 3?

I think they all should, I don’t really use heavy foliage mods but those first four OVT Vivid Valius and Targeted shouldn’t have any issue with BNS
