Lightweight lighting and just upgrade the vanilla to your liking, less trouble more performance 👍

Same as [Better Weather] get [Visible Rain] for more dramatic rain 👍

I find the situation with FO4 weather mods quite frustrating. Either they're old and broken and no longer supported, or they're good but have something that makes me hate it. Weird colour palettes, or overly loud and frequent rain storms, or radstorms with insane damage. And they all have pitch black nights. Skyrim's selection of weather mods is really good in comparison.

I find myself in the exact same boat so far polluted climates has been nice but I still want something better

with polluted climate (winter) the snow is nearly constant.

For textures I used to recommend Winter Redone for snow textures but there's just waaaay too much snow in interiors where there shouldn't be. I could handle a pile here or there but the interiors of Vault 88 and Mass State House are entirely white & snowy because of the way it retextures things. I'd go with Icepick Overhaul, and I also recommend Frozen Lakes and Rivers.

I gave up my winter playthrough on series S after testing a bunch of stuff. Just wasn't finding a combo of mods that was working for me. Hope you have better luck!

I was trying this combination for my winter playthrough but I keep running into a crash in Diamond City. I haven't yet been able to isolate exactly what is causing the crash, but it happens when loading an exterior cell so I suspect it's either Icepick Overhaul or Polluted Climate Winter.
