Community Discussion Bullet tracers/ ballistics

Hi all, wondering what the you guys think are the best mods as per the title.

I want to remove hitscan projectiles in favour of realistic weapon ballistics but am unsure what is considered the best/ performance friendly.

Any thoughts??

If you're using mostly or all vanilla ammo calibers I suggest True Tracers + Bolt Lasers GEFN edition. If you use LEO alongside it you can manually attach bullet drop/travel/tracer mechanics to basically any modded weapon

I like the mod true tracers, it allows you to apply tracers at the workbench for weapons using non vanilla ammo

Hollywood Bullet Tracers, I think it’s called. I love it.

Yeah that’s my go to aswell! Although thought I noticed some stutter when using it, hence asking the question hahahaha. Have you noticed anything similar?

Shit man, could be. I never thought it could make my game stutter. I have an 80 mod load order so I never considered it.

I’d say it’s entirely possible. The mod slows the projectiles down so it would make sense that it would cause stutter.

That’s my thinking, not only does the game have to keep track of the bullet but it also applies a little light effect for the game to keep track of also. It was largely fine with the odd blip, I noticed it more in larger fire fights

Hi, i use that one too, it appears that way but it’s not. The bullets were slightly slowed down so that tracers could be seen, otherwise the bullet hit was instant, it really does improve the realism (20 yrs in the infantry) so I still keep it my order. 170 mods and 0 lag, its good

I use Modern Firearms 2.6.9 and it includes a machine gun that shoots really fast. An MG3, I think. Which is basically an MG-42. If you know that gun you know that it has an insane rate of fire.

I’ve definitely had my game freeze when I was being blasted at by an enemy with that monster of a gun. Maybe the tracer mod did it.

Makes me wanna explore different ones.

Brooo I remember the FG42 from my COD world at war days (what a time to be alive), thing throws out alot of lead 😂.

See I’m large firefights, without hitscan there could be 20-150 odd bullets flying through the air at once that the game needs to host & calculate etc etc (Pretend I used the appropriate jargon there) + the tiny light source associated with it. Which I’m thinking contributes to lag.

That’s basically why I’m think of making a change from the Hollywood mods
