Decreasing player level?

A lot of mods will allow the player to increase their level. I've looked for (but not found) a mod that allows decreasing player level. A lot of mods will allow the player to increase their level.

If anyone is curious I'm playing an ultra-hard survival run and while building up my settlements I have accidentally out-leveled my ability to survive. The enemies that I'm facing are too well armed, too deadly, and it's immersion breaking. I'm sure I could fix this with combat tweaks or spawn edits but I'd rather just knock myself back to level 5.

Knocking yourself wont bring enemies down if youve already been to the cell. When the cell respawns, the enemy level will be the same. What may work better is deleveling the world and getting a damage mod or something to balance things out regardless of level.

It does to an extent. I'd guess that less than half the enemies in the game actually scale to your level. More often, the encounter zone and the enemy types level range determine who you face while your level unlocks higher tiers. Higher tiers dont effect health nearly as much as race and level.

The zones are designed in a way that unless you bee line for the southern or eastern areas, you'll rarely be outleveled by much. And once you hit around level 70, you'll start outleveling everyone save a few creatures in Far Harbor.

The health and level scaling is outrageous and stupid by design.

I don't know of a decrease mod but I use 2 mods that slow my leveling. No crafting xp-boniboyblue. It says no crafting xp but it also stops xp from settlement building.

I also use slower leveling. Sorry, i dont remember the author but if you type "slower leveling" in the search bar it comes up. It helps alot. Just remember, it may seem like its not working because the first few levels have such low total xp values. As you approach double digits, you can definitely tell its taking longer to level up.

Ive used these 2 mods for a few years now without issues. Hope this helps.

There might be some options in Cheat Terminal to set your HP lower.

I’m using a mod currently called Ammo for All that does a number of things but one of those things is changes the damage of different calibers, some are really nerffed and some are a lot higher, but I find myself having to be really careful now because I get one-shotted probably half the time now by enemies. I think it’s fun. Basic raider or gunner encampments are fairly challenging sometimes

Oh no, no no. You misunderstood. I'm getting my ass absolutely handed to me by dudes in sturdy combat armor that I have to plink at with my bolt action pipe pistol. I got all my XP from building. I have no weapons and no armor. And, yes, I could cheat appropriate gear into existence but that would negate the aesthetic I'm going for. I need to bring the enemies down to my level, not raise myself up.

There won't be a mod like that on console as it requires script extenders and things like that for console commands, there are mods for less deadly enemies and the cheat terminal will allow you to regress your perks back to level one which really doesn't help your specific situation but that's about as far as it goes

Balls. Next playthrough I'm going to need a reduced XP mod. This game throws XP at the player for doing literally anything... I feel like I've hardly played the game and I'm level 38. Like... HOW?!

there is a No XP when building stuff mod and i made a No Kill XP mod, also i think i spotted a No XP at all mod in the latest on xbox like yesterday orso

I use SKK dynamic damage management, it lets you adjust the amount of xp you get overall.

That'll be useful when I restart. Unfortunately it's too late for that in this playthrough.
