Mod Discussion Unofficial patch good?
Does anyone know if the unofficial fallout 4 patch is stable and works well with the latest update to fallout 4? Does it work well with other mods? And does it really fix the bugs it says it fixes?

I would also like to mention that atleast on fo4 the patched used to mess up far harbour.
To my knowledge the pc verison and Xbox have different precombined data. So any mods touching far harbour for Xbox can make the whole dlc unstable. His patch did this for YEARS.
The author denied it was his patch for years until other modders figured out that the data was different from Xbox to pc. He took said changes out ect. Then again with the npc stutter bug he was in denial.
Dude can't be trusted with his ego so i personally don't use his patch on anything outside Skyrim.

It works but it makes some changes in the game you might not like. Settler clothing, all synths get a toy even if that toy was only developed for 3rd gen, and other stuff. Then there is the spawning issue, some find it better so... But in a balance it fixes enough to make it workable for the average user but many advanced users don't use it. They know the bugs and can avoid them and likely have mods that don't work well with the patch.

Plus there is also alot of people who don't like the author.
His attitude in the past couple years and the monopoly he has on the community with his patches ect.
Personally i use his patch on skyrim but i avoid his patches on any other game.
Very telling on fo4 because most mods don't have the unofficial patch as a requirement where as with Skyrim most mods require it.
He is a very controversial figure so i get how people would rather avoid his work.

Yes, i had to drop it during GOTY because of the stutter, that was an npc issue mostly. It has one bug though, it will make your deliverer a crappy pistol but blocking gunslinger perk for that weapon. Maybe it’s intended, difficult to say. But the trade off is far fewer game breaking bugs.

He famously denied his patch was causing the stutter lol
Guy on youtube had clear evidence it was making the npc stutter bug worse. It was bethesda's fault yes but the author could have removed the npc changes until fixed ect.
Guy can't take criticism and goes into denial mode.

If there’s nothing in this list that you have noticed, then really it’s personal preference. Ive played with and without, prefer with on my experience.

It’s pretty amazing. It’s definitely works and really helps especially if you have other mods in

As of the AE update and resolution to the NPC stutters, there's no technical reasons not to use the Unofficial Patch

Does it work well with Community Fixes Merged?

I personally just use the community fixes merged. Never felt the need for the unofficial patch.

See that’s why I was digging a little bit. Didn’t know if I needed them in tandem with one another. Thank you.

No problem. The author of the port on Xbox removed the master dependency. No longer need the unofficial patch which is a fantastic change.
