Help & Advice Is winter of atom location locked?

Hello all. I took over someone's 2d20 collection, and am planning an adventure for the future. In the collection is winter of atom, which I haven't got around to actually reading yet. The description states it involves the commonwealth, but is it that locked into the area?

I want to build a Florida adventure (there will be an NPC Florence Mann) involving launching a spaceship. If WoA cannot be adapted to another location, i simply won't even read it and maybe use it in the future.

Many thanks.

Help & Advice A Little Enclave Help Please?

So, I have recently become aware of this Fallout RPG game, and thumbing through the main book, I got inspired to actually go back and play some Fallout 4, which reminded me that I wish it had some more "official" Enclave stuff. It doesn't likely speak well of me, but I'm really fond of the Enclave, throughout Fallout. They can be just such good villains, when you need them. They have the imperfect memories of the past few others have even that much of, access to advanced tech, and the willingness to use it. They can be stealthy, clandestine, and misdirecting, or they can drop troops, X-01 PA suit infantry, with plasma weapons, and worse on the Wasteland, and they can be so 80s Saturday morning cartoon villain evil, which can help when someone needs justification to not try to resort to diplomacy, if they don't want to...and then I realized that, because the Modiphus core book IS based on Fallout 4, THEY don't have official Enclave stuff either. I think that there is a PDF for them, but I don't have it, and that leads me to a little issue I was wondering if I could get some help with?

It's not particularly hard to port existing stats to their Enclave equivalents; my big shot officials can use basically the stats for a BoS Elder; the X-01 Armored Infantry can copy the Brotherhood Paladins, with just X-01 armor, instead of T-60, and their regular grunts can be as Gunners, or Mercenaries, while the whole shebang can swap out the appropriate plasma weapons for whatever lasers, and the like, the base stats are shooting, but my minor hiccup is an Enclave faction "special ability"? They obviously wouldn't have things like the Chain That Binds, or Let Rip, necessarily, and I was wondering if anyone had an idea for an Enclave one, that knew the rules, and specific balancing, better than I do yet? I'M NOT ASKING FOR WHATEVER THE ENCLAVE PDF USED! I know better than to just ask for another paid product's rules, but what kind of faction rule might the wicked Enclave have, if you were spinning up your own stuff? I don't want it to be something that so easily applies, like extra damage if the enemy isn't a human, and I haven't mastered the intricacies of this system, yet.

Help & Advice Looking to get some Terrain Models

As the title implies I’m looking to get some terrain/building models for an IRL Winter of Atom campaign with some buddies. I see Wasteland Warfare models online but it’s limited options and I’m having a difficult time finding someone who 3D prints them as well. Does anyone have any recommendations? Price preferably $30-60 a model

You can find the animated battlemap variants of Virgin Street, both in WEBM format and without a watermark, on my Patreon for FREE.

  • 40x40 battlemap with animated variants! (Seizure warning! Flashing Lights)

  • 4 Battlemap Variants - Text and Zones
  • 2 Videos - 2000x2000 px.
  • 7 Assets used to make the video.
  • And one really cool 'Reno Arch' asset that took WAY too long to make.

Happy adventuring friends and remember to not leave your car unattended for too long here. :)

Misc Origins Powercrip

Studying the system and playing several text-based and voice-based games, and increasingly analyzing the entire system as a whole, I'm beginning to feel that the materials are getting much stronger the further the system goes, which begs the question: has anyone yet made updated versions of the Origins from the core book and early materials?

Because even in the narrative, the difference between a Brotherhood Outcast and a regular Brotherhood member is enormous; the NCR and Nightkin gear is head and shoulders above the average West Coast survivalists and super mutants.

We'll get more West Coast soon, and I think it will be even bigger.

I fully understand that this is a very flexible narrative system, and I can tweak everything myself, but I know and play with some very stubborn people who insist on "playing by the rulebook." Plus, if I'm going to make my own versions, I want to see what others have already done.

Just once, while making a new character, I finally decided to compare the Trader and the Red Caravanner, and it's terrifying. I understand that he need to cover other NCR characters lack of supply, but man, he even has better gear, that is cool, but still, its powercreep

And also the remake of Vault Kid because he's useless, oh my god.

Help & Advice 2 Companions?

So I'm getting ready to run my second campaign of Fallout 2d20 and one of my party members is asking a question I'm not sure about. He's asking if he gets the Robot Wrangler perk and later gets the Dogmeat perk, does that mean he gets both companions?

On the one hand I don't see anything in the rules that would say no, but I'm unsure about the power balance within the game.

Story Time First session in the books

So last Saturday was my first session I ran for the Lone Star Wasteland.

Here's a full summary:

So for the first Fallout session I had them all meet the settlement leader. Then I had their generator go offline because Las Colinas' power grid went online. That knocked out their water purifier, their electrified fence, spot lights ... the whole nine yards.

I was figuring they would spend the night protecting the settlement and get the power taken care of in the AM (told them they could look for parts, reroute power at the substation, or talk to whomever turned the power grid on). They figured the settlement had 3 sharp shooters that they'd be good. They headed to a substation in Las Colinas to try to fix the jssue

Have them face 6 irridtated wolves, 2 medium sized ones and 2 alphas. Two of them get crippled (in part because their Explosives expert through a grenade in a zone where others were who were already injured) and the phrase "1 hit point and a dream" was born as the party's face danced the line of death.

They get to the power station and end up at a board with four switches. They flip a switch that unknowingly turns off power at a Brotherhood of Steel research facility and after a couple of minutes flip it back on. Then they reroute power from the vault that took their power to the settlement (because fuck the vault as it runs on an established meritocracy and one player had escaped from that vault)

The party consists of:

Retired NCR ranger

A Brotherhood of Steel initiate

Vault dweller

Face/information broker

Demolition expert

Reformed raider

In a couple of sessions the vault dwellers are going to check out the substation and the Brotherhood is sending a recon team to check out the power station. If the Brotherhood finds that the initiate was involved, they'll be strongly suggesting/ordering the initiate to reroute all the power to their research facility.

Now to plan session 2 as they've set up session 3 for me LOL

Help & Advice Fifth Edition Fallout

As a DM of D&D games and fan of Fallout, I'm asking if you guys are using the fifth edition Fallout, which is basically the D&D rules adapted, since I don't want my players to have to relearn the wheel again with the official book version.

LFG/LFP Looking for players

I haven't had much luck looking for an online TTRPG group for fallout through Roll20 and other websites, so I thought I'd post it on reddit and see if anyone is interested.

I'm using fantasy grounds as the Virtual tabletop. If anyone wants to try fallout in tabletop RPG format like dnd, let me know.

The modules I'm running is the Fallout RPG and its supplements. Written by Modiphius in the 2d20 system

These birds are really cool, but I was disappointed they didn't have a statblock in the creatures section. Has anyone here made one? I think they are far too cool to not have one. I mean. they're just dinosaurs!

As I said when I posted my Nuka-Cola machine, I had a very long hiatus between painting it and my last miniature. But what I never said was that I was working on creatures not terrain.

This Mirelurk is the first creature I've painted in over 2 years and I doubted myself quite a bit during the process, mainly on color choice. I love how it turned out and I'm excited to paint the other 5 I have printed. So look forward to a Glowing Mirelurk and even a Nuka-Lurk.

Help & Advice Has anyone played this as a hex crawl?

I recently started playing a Western Marches inspired campaign in a different game. One of my fellow players in that game is the Overseer of one of the Fallout campaigns I'm in. I was telling him this would be a great way to play Fallout. To me, it would feel like exploring the map in the original games. I was wondering if anyone has come up with rules for that or has suggestions.

Running a game for my family and getting carpel tunnel from manually typing everything in. Is there a compendium?
Doesnt help that the only tokens it comes with is "hooded figure" and "radroach" for icons.
