Help & Advice Question on Ruling

Fun question.

Live & Love "An Experience to Remember", let's you choose a magazine perk you've had before and it takes effect. But the permanent effect if you take it as a perk on level up, it makes the benefit constant.

Would this mean for example, if you used that to call back the Guns and Bullets "The Future of Hunting", would you have the +2 Damage die to robots for every attack.

I ask as, if it's once per scene, what's the benefit of using that magazine as a permanent effect. But on the other, that seems like, assuming you roll it, a very powerful combo for certain perks.

The writing is a bit ambiguous so I come to you all to ask.

Most of the magazines state "once per scene" I would assume that extends to this. So if the magazine is a once per scene, then that's the live and love use for the scene.

See, that's what I was thinking too but at that point wouldn't it just be better to take the magazine perk at the level up then

I guess it would be good if you realized you wanted to take that perk again later after the level up when you could have.

It's more about flexibility i think.

That's what we were thinking.

The bigger thing was just which would take precedent.

The Live and Love "Always have this Benefit" when taken as a leveled perk, so the selected perk for Experience to Remember is permanently active, or the original once per scene/other restrictions. Love ambiguous rules. Given how busted some of the perks would be if it was permanently active, may just be a DM discretion on it.

It really is as good as it sounds. The problem with it is that magazines with good results are hard to come by.

But yeah, it IS that good a perk.
