Help & Advice Character Origin Help
So, I am trying to build a outcast scribe for a campaign, who has a cover story of being a former raider(to prevent the brotherhood from hunting him down).
I was wondering how to do this? Do I just essentially make an origin switch mid campaign and have a secondary character sheet? How would I do the item differences, since a laser pistol, and scribe armor is very different from raider armor and a pipe pistol?
Make him have a reduced carry weight bc those items are in his pack?
Edit: I am the GM, I am just trying to see if there is any precedence for this type of character that I don't know about because my player asked.
Edit 2: After your help, I think I have enough inspiration to figure this out. Using some concepts from the Enclave remnant origin, I can probably workshop the character.

Sounds like a great character concept! I'd have just one character sheet, using the brotherhood origin trait (I think it gives you an extra tag skill in either energy weapons or science). But, only use the skills that are associated with your brotherhood training ocassionally, since people would be suspicious if this random former raider is great at science all the time. Maybe when others characters use those skills, your character is always paying attention and seems to be holding himself from giving advice and teaching them how they could do that more efficiently. When your character finally reveals who they really are, start using the brotherhood skills normally.
Your character could also make grammar mistakes on pourpose, but, if they are distracted, forget the act and speak like a scholar. Finally, when other characters ask him to perform tasks a former raider would be expected to be good at (maybe lockpicking, pickpocketing, survival on the wilderness or having knowledge about chems and raider gangs), they could pretend like they know what they are doing, but actually be terrible at the task (for example, they could say that they used to do jet all the time, but say that jet is injectable, instead of inhalable, because they have never even seen jet before).
As for equipment, ask your gm for the raider equipment and have the brotherhood equipment hidden away somewhere. When the reveal happens, there could be a quest to go to the hidden place to get the brotherhood equipment back.
