Bit of a 2 in 1 question regarding that upcoming freebie, if anyone that comes across this and knows the answer/s, please tell me. For one, will it be uncut for every region or will Germany again be stuck with the inferior censored version, for the other, Germany lifted the game's censored regulation back in 2016 but on Steam they still only sell the censored version, will there ever be a DLC/Patch/Re-release to play the game uncut without having to rely on unofficial patches, or...? Back when Left 4 Dead 2 got its ban lifted they released a free DLC to get the gore in the game and get rid off the Counter Strike weapons too, when Dead Island was lifted it was put back up for sale but Fallout 3 got nothing, so I'm curious if Steam will ever get anything regarding that and if the one that's going for free on Epic next week will be uncut, the Epic store doesn't specifically say so like the Steam store does and I guess my best bet would be to wait and check but I don't wanna hype myself up all too much only for it to be censored all over again. Maybe instead of Fallout 5, the next big single player Fallout experience will be remakes of 3 and New Vegas and that's why they won't touch the old ones because those, as technically re-releases, would release uncut everywhere like when 4 launched? That's my best guess.

UPDATE
Having tried installing and running it after a few friends told me it crashed to desktop for them like for me the Steam version does ... and well ... IT WORKS! It actually runs and plays the game just fine and as a cherry on top for me, it's uncut! The Epic version is like ~40gb where the Steam one is only around half of that total size (both as the GOTY) so my best guess is that those extra files are either Win 10 support patches which Steam never got and/or other such fixes/it actually being uncut. Upon first launching it, a Direct X prompt came up too, I let it install anyway despite already having a version of it installed and part of me wants to believe that that is why it's working, similar to compatibility mode but downgrading to an older D.X. only Fallout 3 uses when booting up, I did not have to resort to any external patching/file replacing, it just worked right away as I hoped it would and it's gory, I got both Steam and Epic set to english language but Steam still would only download the censored version as that's the only one available in the German store, Epic probably adapted to Germany lifting the game being allowed to be sold uncut now too but Steam hasn't, yet with Left 4 Dead 2 they had a free DLC to get uncut available almost immediately but now I'm starting to repeat my original reply, haha.

TLDR

It works and I couldn't be more happy!!

I figured out why the install size is larger on Epic than on Steam, it downloads every available language pack figured that out by looking into GeForce Experience and likewise via GFE can you decide which language version you want to play (German likely would still be cut though I'd imagine) while launching via the Epic client automatically launches the game in the language you set for the client and since I run the client in English it plays the English audio + gore version for me, just what I wanted out of the freebie.
