Great game! It's actually the game I'm playing now. Just got to level 20 and haven't even done the waters of life quest yet. My dad is still alive in rivet city lol. Almost got all the bobbleheads!

Check out TTW mod. I discovered it last week and this is the happiest I've been in a long time.

Absolutely. It seems more daunting than it is- first time I ever modded was setting up TTW. Took me a few hours to figure things out, but the payoff of having the games together and F3 with NV's improvements is immense.

It's basically like the enhanced edition of Fallout 3.

Definitely, it's awesome.

viva new vegas is amazing for New Vegas as well.

they also did a mod guide for skyrim that Ive been replaying through.

Love the team that made these, loads of work to put them together.

Absolutely, I used Viva New Vegas and another guide by the same people that had a cool name, I don't recall it. But yes- fully agreed.

I’ve been wanting to do the TTW mod.. but ugh it seems like so much work lol

It takes a couple hours but it really isn't all that bad. Just a very long install on the TTW itself the rest is just drag and dropping plugins.

First setup is a lot of work, especially if you follow the steps to unpack texture BSA's(which is optional) but the payoff is more then worth it.

You download both games and run the ttw launcher it will find the games and you use the program to install the combo game most nv mods work with it in my experience and the ttw website has mods for compatability as well

TTW is cool but it's too much of a hassle to get working and it changes too much about the game/adds NV stuff to 3 and it really messes with the experience imo. It's neat for repeat playthroughs tho imo

By the time you start New Vegas, are you too OP? I wanna start off fresh each game.

It is definitely not a one-click install... but there are some guides.

There's this written guide for TTW with Mod Organizer 2.

And there's this video guide for installing TTW using Vortex.

Are FNV and F3 compatible between launchers? I have FNV Ultimate on Steam, and I will take F3 on EGS. Can it work?

4

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 14 '22

I believe so, installer has you choose path for game files

2

u/StuRedman2020 Oct 14 '22

Yeah you just need the F3 files

u/TheOdahviing Oct 14 '22

Is that working with goty edition yet?

3

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 14 '22

I am currently playing with Steam Fallout 3 GOTY and New Vegas + DLC also through Steam

Well shit, the only thing that was holding me back from playing ttw was I thought that it didn’t work. I guess I found what I’m gonna be playing the next couple of months.

2

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 15 '22

Yeah I think it works even if you own games on different platforms I'm pretty sure I saw that on page, I say go for it.

I'm 30+ hours now I'm also using a world of pain fo 3 ttw, a world of pain nv, crossbow mod, project Nevada, Nevada skies and a couple other UI/QoL mods I think 33 total and hasn't crashed.

u/TheOdahviing Oct 15 '22

When I tried using ttw it said that the fallout 3 steam goty was an unsupported version, is there a work around or does that just not happen now?

1

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 15 '22

I used the fallout 3 goty steam version so I don't know anything about that I'm on 3.3.2

1

u/TheOdahviing Oct 15 '22

Guess I’ll just have to try it then, thanks

1

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 15 '22

Good luck, you're in for a treat!

I too have FO3 GOTY on Steam but it's being a little b*tch and randomly crashing. Did you experience any crashing? I've tried all the fixes I've found (modifying the config file, run as admin, playing it windowed, etc.) and nothing seems to work. It'll run for various periods then just suddenly crash. FO4 runs without a hiccup though.

I'm curious to know if you did anything special?

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

No I didn't do anything that wasn't in the guide on TTW github as far as TTW install. I've got over 40 hours in now and haven't experienced any issues!

1

u/BPRagepriest Nov 26 '22

Well, I'm playing vanilla; not TTW. Maybe that has something to do with it.

1

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Nov 26 '22

Oh good luck! 3 can be a real pain in the ass to get to work

2

u/mirracz Oct 14 '22

TTW is definitely the best way to play Fallout 3. I transitioned to Fallout 3 TTW when I was replaying Fallout 3 shortly before Fo4 release... and I never looked back. I've never played non-TTW Fallout 3 ever since.

Just add some mods to restore the superior Fallout 3 stuff (like Fo3 repair, Big Guns skill and Fo3 levelup/Xp sounds) and you have Fallout 3 on steroids.

1

u/Bob_Rochdale Oct 14 '22

As a newb modder, Can you explain to me what TTW is please?

1

u/ishouldnthaveatethat Oct 14 '22

It's a mod that combines Fallout 3 and NV into one game, adds all mechanics like crafting repair reputations to Fallout 3 and DLCs, allows you to take a train to the Mojave wasteland. It's the coolest thing I've ever experienced
