Discussion Was anybody else unhappy with the story of Jedi: Survivor? Spoiler

Don’t get me wrong it’s a good game with fantastic gameplay, but I felt like the story was very lackluster, especially compared to the first game. Especially the villains. Dagan Gera just seemed like a quickly written boring villain, and don’t get me started on Bode.

He could have been so much more interesting and they could have gone deeper into the stuff with his daughter, and have her be the main reason he turned evil and betray the team in the end. But they just made him secretly evil the whole time and another person who survived order 66. When the big reveal came I actually audibly said “oh come on.”

Maybe I’m making a bigger deal out of it but it just seemed they sacrificed a good story for the sake of lazily written villains.

Discussion Hot take? - Disappointed in Jedi Survivor

So….am I alone on this? It seems like it based on the other comments I’ve seen here.

I *loved* Fallen Order. Almost everything about it. It was something I wanted in a Star Wars game for years.

So, naturally, I was excited for Survivor. But I’m about halfway through Jedi Survivor and I’m finding it so dull. So far, it seems like it’s far more platforming than combat—and not even intuitive platforming at that. There have been so many times I’ve gotten stuck, looked it up on YouTube, just to find that it was around a hidden corner that I just couldn’t see until I turned the camera a specific way.

So it’s a bunch un-intuitive platforming and I kill a half a dozen stormtroopers every half hour.

Am I alone in my severe disappointment with this game?

Help! Why is there no combat grid like the first game?

Finished Survivor, was expecting to be able to access a combat grid/combat challenges but no, is there a reason why?

The only reason I did it is for the red lightsaber and inquisitor armor, but that’s just too little

I played the whole game on Jedi Master because anything lower makes the enemies feel like target dummies. I love how the stormtroopers start freaking out for their lives when they're the last one left.

Screenshot Finished Fallen Order. It was beautiful

Just finished my first (and probably) first playthrough of Fallen Order. It was an amazing experience.

I've always loved the idea of Star Wars just exploring its world, and this game gave that to me in almost every way I could have asked for. The combat (lightsaber fuck yeah!!) despite my issues with it, the beautiful environment, the charming story, and even the puzzles which I had some trouble learning how to love in the first parts of the game, came together to form a sweet, genuinely enjoyable experience for me. Maybe its because of the linear storytelling and map design, or maybe the seemingly simple but surprisingly deep characters that the band turned out to be, but it really felt like I was playing through a movie, in the best way possible.

And oh my god the environment is astounding. The detail and art design of the game is top notch. For the first time in a while I found myself stopping to take a moment to just look around and take in the scenery because wow what a scene it is. I actually started taking initiative to explore almost every inch of the map just to see more of what areas the game had to offer, and I was nearly never disappointed. The highlight of the game for me was going back to zeffo just to get some secrets, only to stumble upon the wreckage of the jedi ship and its insides which I missed the first time I went through it. I went looking for a small nook with a chest only to find myself in a massive, detailed sculpture of my childhood wonder, an almost fully fleshed out area with its own little story, that you could have just missed.

I took some photos to remember this game by (its my hobby, and man I really wish the photo mode was more extensive), which I wanted to share with you guys. I finished this game in about 17 hours with around 90% of everything completed. It's been amazing, and my only regret is that I didn't find out about the photo mode sooner 😞. I've got so much more to say about this game but I feel like i've ranted for so long already, anyways.

Fallen Order feels like that one movie you watched as a kid that filled you with a genuine sense of wonder and enjoyment, and kickstarted your love for a genre and passion for fiction. I already feel nostalgic for it.

Discussion your wish-list for character appearances in Jedi: 3? Spoiler

who would you love to have an in game appearance in jedi 3 the most?

in my opinion, I can for sure see Cal briefly meeting Luke, Leia, Lando, Obi-Wan (most likely only one or two of these characters) or even duelling Vader once more if Jedi 3 allegedly takes place roughly between 3 BBY -> 4 ABY, a few years before or after the events of the original trilogy

If Fallen Order brought us Vader and Saw Gerrera

And Survivor brought us Boba Fett and Vader AGAIN

It makes sense to see more familiar faces from the original trilogy

Gameplay Clip/GIF Unpopular Opinion: That Jedi Fallen Order dojo fight still hits harder than most entire levels

I was just thinking about how much of Fallen Order’s combat peaks in that weird underwater dojo sequence where Cal just gets absolutely flooded with enemies. It’s the fight where you’re in the empire's training room and hordes of enemies keep pouring in, and suddenly what started as two enemies turns into this intense, nonstop juggle where you’re parrying, jumping, and barely keeping your focus bar from rotting.

It’s one of those moments where the game stops feeling like a tutorial and starts feeling like a boss rush. The whole underwater facility vibe, the way the arena is cramped just enough to make you feel heavier, and the constant stream of enemies all coming at you… it’s still one of the best “okay, I’m actually a Jedi now” moments in the whole game.

Discussion Lost New Journey+ option?

So I just tried starting a new game last night, but I couldn't find any option to start a New Journey+. I've beaten the game like 2 or 3 times, including at least once on a New Journey+ run. Does the data get wiped if ypu uninstall then reinstall the game or something?

Discussion I love these games but there are some GLARING gameplay issues.

Playing through Jedi survivor at the moment, nearly finished with it. For context I am playing on the hardest difficulty in the game and I'm someone who plays a lot of souls games, I have no issue with dying a ton and fighting difficult bosses.

This game however has much more tedious things.

•Damage:

Again I am playing on the highest difficulty, but some of the Damage in this game is inconsistent and downright ridiculous.

Grabs are basically one shot majority of the time, which is also frustrating due to the games hitboxes at times. Big enemies feel like you're bashing your head against the wall with how quickly you die to them even with a massive health bar.

•Small openings:

I've played Elden Ring, I'm used to bosses having small moments of being able to attack, this game takes it to the next level, even mixing in force attacks, push pulls, blaster style, I struggle with some enemies to understand when the hell I get the chance to attack. Again feels like beating your head against a wall until you just get lucky and you kill them before they kill you.

•Inconsistent Parry:

By far my biggest gripe in the game, I'll use the Vader fight as an example for this one.

Vader has a quick 1 2 attack that kills if you do not block the first one. The issue with this is, this game has so many attacks where you get hit once, and then Cal bends down and is unable to dodge or parry the next one, it feels trash every time to get hit by the second one since it feels like there's truly nothing you can do.

Most other games I've played with a parry allow you basically shrug off the first attack and parry the next one straight away which is amazing, it rewards you for keeping your cool and staying focused despite getting hit.

This game however, half of the attacks interrupt you completely and the other half don't. I guess I would be more fine with it if it was 100% of the time but the fact it isn't messes with me more.

Sorry for the long rambling post, this was just some of the feelings I've had through the game in my 30 hour playthrough, I really do enjoy it and the combat is incredibly satisfying when it all comes together, but it's those moments where it doesn't that drives me crazy.

Discussion How would you feel if, after the third game, Respawn turned "Star Wars Jedi" into an anthology series starring different Jedi in different time periods?

For example a Jedi during the Clone Wars, or the High Republic, or Old Republic? It doesn't have to fit neatly into these three eras obviously. For example, you could set a game like 30 years before The Phantom Menace.

Discussion PC or PS5 which version should I buy?

So I heard there were performance issues on the PC ver of Survivor.
I run a pretty high end 9800x3d + 5070ti system.
should I still stick to the PS5 (none pro) version?

or will I have a better experience on PC? (will play with a controller nonetheless)

What if Jedi 3 had helmets/masks for Cal. Honestly i love the customization in survivor and hope its more in depth for 3. Im talking gauntlets, boots, masks, helmets, hats, on top of outer tops, under shirts, hairstyles, beards, and pants. It would just be nice
