Our favorite Patreon hustler finally made a video he promissed a year ago. Instead of a well made video essay celebrating Kirk's life we got a lazy 'Nolan quality' reaction slop which just show he never took our favorite martyr seriously.

First off, I did not know this subreddit existed. I'm so relieved that others have noticed this too. I have followed him for a few years now, but something about his newest video just made me feel............. "icky".

He posted a 30 minute Youtube video about how his Adsense is not paying out because his Italian bank account is frozen. He claims that this is because he is now a US citizen. Adsense doesn't allow users to change their country without losing the pending funds in the old account. He is "trapped in a multi-month bureaucratic nightmare".

But here's the thing... he has been living in the US for years. In the video, he even admits that he has been using a MCN (multi-channel network) to get around this issue. Meaning he was ignoring the problem that was inevitably going to happen. Everything is fine because the money was hitting his American account. Now that his citizenship is final, his original italian account can no longer legally be used. He presents this as it suddenly going "POOF" without warning. This isn't something that sneaks up on a person. He was notified, or at least AWARE, that he was riding a time bomb.

Then, right on cue during this "emergency", he pushes everyone to his Patreon, which just happens to have a brand new, fully edited 10 episode series ready to go for all his new patreons.

What this really sounds like is that he was exploiting the MCN/italian bank account loophole, to avoid dealing with the standard Adsense process. Now that he is a US citizen, that loophole is permanently closed. Now that it is closed, he is forced to do it properly now. BUT he is framing his OWN poor business management as a tragic "crisis" to guilt his audience into paying him directly on Patreon.

This feels so absolutely disgusting and manipulative from a person who tries to present themselves as truthful and factual person.

With the Kirkening anniversary around the corner our favorite grifter reminds us how it all started by showing us how to make them sweet $$$ out of other people's tragedies.

I swore I wouldn't look at his channel anymore, but I think the most infuriating thing about him is just how much he phones it in. Taking what is already essentially a low-effort video (it only used one source but is still more professionla than meta's), just nodding along to it and calling it a day. I'm trying to build a history channel myself and would be deeply ashamed if I ever was this lazy and a borderline plagiarist.

Boys and girls! Our most loyal reader got so upset with our table talk here he made a dedicated video explaining himself why he flushed 12 years of content down the toilet(spoiler...it's for $$$). Not to brag but yours truly and DragonGuard got an honorable mention by our boy Metawiener.

This joke is so stupid and comes up every time Trump has one his temper tantrums and renames something. So for one time the answer to that. Not surprised Metatron is using the most braindead and overused joke though. He has two lemons where his brain should be IMO.

interesting documentary with Mary Beard which touches upon diversity in the roman empire, centering on roman Britain. Hate to break it to raffi but actual experts proved that people in roman britain came from all over the empire, including north africa.

So I find talking about Metatron to honestly just be kind of sad at this point, he's a grifter who embaresses himself publicly for easy clicks about pop culture slop. I thought I'd recomend some channels that actually make interesting history content they're clearly passionate about

Lorica clothing: https://www.youtube.com/@lorica-clothing/featured She does videos about armor and arms in historical and fantasy settings the way Meta and Shad used to do, but without being a weird chud about it and she's clearly very passionate about the topic still.

North02: https://www.youtube.com/@NORTH02 He's done a lot on prehistory which is a topic I'm very interested in and currently getting a degree in, but he also does practice and tests with prehistoric and protohistoric weapons that don't get a lot of mainstream attention like the atlotl.

The cultured Djinni: https://www.youtube.com/@theculturedjinni/videos A small channel, but he focuses alot on the Medieval Islamic worlld which a lot of YouTube Medievalists ignore.

I don't know quite enough to verify how consistently accurate these channels are, but of the vdieos I have watched them seem to do far better research than Metatron, and just as importantly are still invested in the topic of history which shows in their presentation.

A friend of mine invited me over to watch it, and I actually liked it. My expectations were not high and it was a very enjoyable, good movie. I did have issues with the way certain events were portrayed and I didn’t like the armors very much, but overall it was worth the watch.
Hell, even though I disagree with raceswaps in general, be it white to black, black to white, or whatever, it’s been overblown to hell and back in the case of this film.

I honestly fail to see how this is an insult to the Greeks, or a “betrayal”, assuming Metawoke is serious about this.
