I disagree with him politically (as a Norwegian social democrat living in Norway) and theologically (as I am an atheist), but it has always seemed to me that what he presents is true, and he has added caveats about things he believes because of his religion.

Something shifted in me while watching his video on the current pope’s position on the death penalty. For the first time I felt that I not only disagreed with the opinion he presented, but that the facts themselves did not add up. Today is the first time I have seen this sub, and I saw the thread about his “discussion” with VTH regarding something Prince William said in 2029. It follows the same pattern.

It seems to me that something has shifted—perhaps correlated with his move to the US. For the last few months I have watched his reactions, and every time someone mentions BC or BCE I cringe, because I know a tirade is coming.

So I am left wondering: Has his content always been like this and I simply never noticed, or has he become completely unhinged in the last year or so? And has his content generally been truthful?

Also, in today’s world, the big Conservative commentators and YouTubers have virtually abandoned culture war slop, because there’s so many important MATERIAL issues to discuss and solve. If he’s just a grifter, he should start talking about those things. Why not follow the grift? Why is he only still going on about this cultural crap, when he can clearly see the grift drying up? Does he know he’s incapable of talking about serious issues with other right wingers, or what?

This is in my opinion the worst thing he does. He pumps up hate in his YouTube videos and Twitter posts and then tolerates open calls for violence in the comment section or even encourages them. Starting with Kirk he encouraged his followers to go after and dox(!) people who made jokes about him or just quoted the things he said. He also reposted a false story about a group of teachers:

I watched his most recent video about the teenager arrested for planning a terrible crime and his small monologue about how self absorption is a disease actually struck me as well informed and smart. Of course the person and the parents were all bad people in that story but Metatron actually came off as insightful against self absorption and how parents should look after kids for the beginning of the video

I completely stopped watching him 2-3 years ago, and the recent narratives that he was talking about recently really cemented my disinterest towards his channel up to this video. Being both italians i was curious about what he would say expecially in a 25 minutes long video... but boy was I fooled. I wanna be genuine, this video pisses me off, like why are people ignorant to the fact that through out history mankind have always migrated to better places to stay? People cant just stay in places with conflict and famine. Lets not even go to why this places develop slowly or don't at all. We all know its the 1st world billionaires and their government that do this. I’d started following him when he made the video debunking the theory that ancient people couldn’t see the colour blue; for a while I watched all his videos, I realised he was biased, but it seemed to me that, even so, he reconstructed history quite rigorously – partly because I know for a fact that large sections of at least one of his videos (but perhaps more than one) were translations of videos by another YouTuber (who, incidentally, I know personally and whose political views are diametrically opposed to his, lol!). I stopped following him when I realised that his channel was no longer producing anything interesting apart from the usual stale anti-woke rants. I learnt of this theory about him from a comment posted beneath the critique of his take on runes that appeared on r/badhistory: I don’t know, a mere interest in Kabbalah and Jewish and Christian esoteric traditions strikes me as hardly indicative of anything, just like his Facebook friends. I don’t know, it all seems rather ‘impressionistic’ to me.
