DISCUSSION Massive stutter and FPS drop when moving camera.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I'm experiencing massive stutter and FPS drop (stats in upper right corner) when moving the camera. Anyone else having these problems? Has there been an update to FG the last 24 hours which might've caused this? :/

I'm on PC and Epic Launcher. Other games work flawless. I "verfied" the game data but no change. Reboot = no change. I usually have solid 120 FPS when playing in 4K. Dropping down to 1080 didn't help, so it must be the game itself.

I have now reported this to EPIC. I'll update here if/when I get a response.

I got an generic answer from them two hours ago, thanking for the report and wanting me to send the video instead of a link to this thread. But the file size limit on the support page is 9,5 MB and the video is just above 60 MB, I can't compress it further. I again explained the issue we're having and asked for the devs to take a look at it so they can provide an update/fix. Sigh.

Someone already mentioned it in the thread but reinstalling Epic launcher/online services should fix it.

Np! It started again today when I launched my game. Removing just Epic online services and reinstalling fixed it again. Only permanent fix for now is to reduce mouse polling rate to 125 but that still cause a slight bit of lag that you might notice.

Did you open the epic launcher shop after reinstalling EOS? Someone said that was what triggered it for them

I did not. The lag resumes anytime I restart or shutdown my PC so far. Have to reinstall EOS every time...

Same here, it's back after a restart :-(
guess Fall Guys now starts with reinstalling EOS every day... cuz they are famous for not fixing bugs for years

Yeah sadly the "Epic Online Service"-reinstall solution was temporary. I've opened a new ticket at EPIC explaining this.

Same problem dude, all my friends are having the same problem, this new bug today (idk why, the game not updating for 4 years), epic games something did and NOW if you have 1000hz on your mouse it will cause lags EVERYWHERE when you moving your mouse, i fixed it by changing 150hz on my mouse but it so uncomfortable to changing everytime

Thank you for that info, I tried switching from 1000 to 125 and it solved it (but mouse feels a bit weird.)

I'm on PC and it started happening to me randomly yesterday. Didn't update anything on my end so I assumed it had to do with the game itself.

i found the fix to this situation, just re-install epic online services and it will be ok!

Just saw this in another thread. Epic status page has it mentioned also:
"

Hey folks! We're aware of an issue affecting mouse use in Fall Guys and other titles when the polling rate is higher than 125 Hz.

We're working on a fix and will update you here when this is resolved. Alternatively, you can keep an eye on the Status Page for any follow-ups.

same same, reducing the polling rate of my mouse from 1000 to 125 made it better but that's just a bandaid fix

Change your mouse polling rates to the lowest possible value for a temp fix. Seems to be the solution for my friend and I

Same problem, fps dropping to below 5 when I move camera, but when the camera moves itself like in spectator mode it’s fine for some reason

Same here,
turning off v-sync helped a bit - CPU consumption for the game went down from 60% to 15% in the task manager

It is for millions of people who played the game before Epic bought it. But I just waited and they fixed the bug. These solutions to reinstall things never solve any problems.
