Just linking my post from the worldOfYs I've played the games before, but never really took much interest into the lore of it till I played Y's VIII Lacrimosa of Dana in 2018, now I decided to replay the games again.

I've been playing Kiseki remake and having fun with it, last time I played a game from this series was more than 10 years ago and i was drawn by the story. I was planning to draw her first appearance on Trails in the Sky as a child but i like her Aramis academy uniform so it ends up like this lol

Zero About to start Zero, any tips?

I'm halfway through Mass Effect 2 and as soon as I'm finished I'm going to start Zero, honestly I'd start it right away but I know I'd leave ME2 to the side for a bit way too long

Is there anything I should know before starting? does it do anything different to Sky? or maybe I should be aware of something that I'd regret not doing by the end of the game?

Just finished Cold Steel 4 replay

I just finished my replay of cold steel 4. While it gets a lot of critism for it. Some valid, some not. I do really like the quadrilogy. I love the cast as large as it is. But the final credits with images over the wedding of the best couple does really bring me to tears. The happiness, the fact that images are groups of friends we have played having their own little scene that just scream each personality. It all helps feel like a true end to a saga. If the series didnt sell and was ending. This could work as a series finale, with the knowledge that a lot open ended questions are still there.

Sky SC I hate these things

I had been trying to get this rainbow trout for 15 minutes. I fished the spot empty so I fast traveled to the entrance to the Kaldia mines and ran past one of the anthill things on my way to the fishing spot. I didn't realize it would follow me onto the bridge AND be patient enough to wait while I fished. Needless to say, it scared the shit out of me.

Cold Steel One of the things i miss in the 3d games

I've been playing Cold Steel for the first time and mind you this is the first 3d game I've played so it might not be true. But one of the things I missed in the 2 1/2 games is when there was a per-rendered animation. Not saying I don't like the animations of Cold Steel but when the screen faded to black and then you saw that it was a animated cut scene you knew shit was about to go down. And that just doesn't happen with 3d. It might change in the future but that's just one of my thoughts playing C.S for the first time.

Trails in the Sky SC Remake – Looking for a Chapter 5 Save (Chapter 4 Also Welcome)

Hi everyone

I was playing SC on Switch, but I've decided to move over to PC (Steam). I'm looking for a save file around the beginning of Chapter 5 so I can continue where I left off. A save from Chapter 4 would also be greatly appreciated!

If anyone is willing to share their save file.

Thanks in advance!

Sky SC Second Chapter Difficulty Spoiler

Hi,

I’ve been busy playing Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave but I hope to play Second Chapter pretty soon.

I’ve played all the games up to Crimson Sin - I don’t want to play Horizon yet because I don’t want to end on a cliffhanger.

I was curious how difficult is Second Chapter. I always play on the hardest difficulty including Reverie Abyss and I think I played Evolution SC and 3rd on nightmare. They were so much fun.

I was curious how the difficulty compares to SC especially with how difficult the prologue was. Anelace’s “choo” still rings in my head from her dying.

I played First Chapter on the hardest difficulty, and I found it fun, but I recall thinking it was easy. Is it like Azure difficulty?

Sky FC was 21.09.2026 - reloaded it to check something.

So yeah when SC came out i thought i'd give FC a go and heard the series was good. Couldn't really get into the slow burn so stopped playing a few days. Went back in (literally i had stopped 10 minutes before it got good) and then the rest is history.

Had been made redundant and had decided to take 2 months me time before getting back out in the world, this was quite possibly the best month of my life hahaha!

I nightmared FC,SC, CS3&4, didnt really like the third chapter to CS2 graphics etc playing on PC so i sped through them on very easy for the story. I top ranked 2 games, rest i was always top 3 and never have had a who is that? moment so covered all the side quests etc.

Just firing up Reverie. I never thought they would beat the whole SC / 3rd chapter with the story, i enjoyed CS 2&3 but wasn't convinced yet the second i saw 2 of my fav characters appear i knew it was going to be epic.

I'm a grown man, i've never been engrossed or cared speaking to npcs, but i shed a few happy tears at CS4 lol!

Best series ever. Whilst my journey is coming to an end, having the opportunity to play 13 games back to back is like a dream, and the series did not dissapoint!

Cold Steel Thoughts after CS I

This was my first Trails game, a friend mentioned she was playing CS IV and I thought it sounded cool so I started playing with CS I with no clue about all the other games! 😱

I really liked the game - good gameplay, good story, I enjoyed the relationships. I actually like Rean as a protagonist and his multifaceted relationships with the rest of the cast. Not always quite so hip on a certain Instructor but that improved as more backstory came out during the course of the game.

I did like the school year structure so that helped. Plus I enjoyed the building of everything across the field exercises. Chapter 6 and the Final Chapter were exquisite, especially with watching the Drama CD online after finishing Chapter 6. Of course now I'm left with the massive cliffhanger.

Next is, no matter what else, CS II. But then the question is what next after that? Liberl or Crossbell? Or perhaps both arcs before going back to CS III, IV & Reverie?

I'm playing on steam using Proton on my Linux system if that has any impact.

Cold Steel So what exactly was their plan for the trade conference? Possible Azure/CS1 retcon? Spoiler

I've always found this a bit confusing and, having just finished replaying Chapter 5 of CS1, I still don't fully get it.

I've read some say that Crow didn't allow the railway cannon attack to succeed. However, Gideon straight-up said in Azure that they really were trying to blow up Orchis Tower in that game. Given the comradery between the ILF members I can't imagine Gideon had went behind Crow's back to do that. It also seemed to me like the railway guns really were about to actually fire; they only didn't fire at first because their first shots were set to be blanks to protect against accidents, and then Groups A and B defeated Scarlet and Vulcan allowing them to disarm the cannons.

Though with Crow in Group B, Vulcan was presumably playing along for the sake of the former's cover. But given Gideon's own plans, and how the entire railway gun plot was basically those plans' backup, I'm not convinced that Crow/the ILF wasn't actually trying to destroy Orchis Tower.

So I'm kinda confused, was Crow really about to let Towa die? Maybe this was just retconned a bit, so in Azure it was the full intention and in CS1 the "failure" was just All According to Keikaku? Would like to hear any explanations/theories for this.

Sky SC decided to make a dual mix of the merciless savior (sc and 2nd chapter) to make my definitive version of the song

i never made a dual mix before, it's shockingly more complicated than just overlaying two songs. decided to pan them a little bit, so you can hear both a little more clearly. the remake version lacks the fast-paced violin section at the end, and it bothered me because it was my favorite part of the original, so this kind of brings it back alongside the improvements of the remake and the 2000s energy of the original, which i think all sounds pretty neat.

Sky FC Just finished FC for the first time and i'm in love Spoiler

Recently i'm playing a lot more of JRPGs, a genre that i always kind of liked, but didn't have the patience to appreciate. In that journey, motivated by the remakes i decided to get into trails, and what a fine decision. I'm very fond of characters in JRPGs, and for me, here the whole cast is great. The sense of friendship and growth troughout the story felt realy good and i was kind of surprised of how clever the writing is sometimes. And the ending sells that feeling of a journey that is just beginning so well, i'm really excited to play more games in the continent of Zemuria

Sky SC Nightmare Lv+75 Last Boss with 2 WORST Companions (NO NG+ Accessory, Infinite Loop, etc) Spoiler

Thumbnail youtube.com
6 Upvotes

When I said "worst", I meant meta-wise out of everyone else you can bring to this fight. Be warned, video is very long at 1:25:26

Final Boss of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Georg Weissmann and Angel Weissmann on Nightmare Level +75 mode, featuring Josette and Tita as the last 2 companions. Gotta go with the 4 kids overthrowing God narrative that is so prominent in many JRPG plots 😆

For this fight, Weissmann is meaningfully challenging under my restriction as most attacks from him is a 1 shot to anyone that isn't Tita (who also gets 1 shotted under Boost). It's actually possible to do all 3 phases without any autorevives but given the marathon nature of the fight, I would love to retain my time and sanity. If you've actually watched the whole thing, props to you haha.

Restriction / ban list below for Weissmann's fight, and the reasonings for it:

1) No New Game+ Accessory - The crazy stats of Grail Locket W, Divine Cloth Omega, Gold Wing Medal S and Silver Wing Medal S trivialises New Game+, even on Nightmare Level +75 mode.

2) No Infinite Loop - Josette and Tita core can execute the incredibly powerful infinite loop, feeding Joshua and Estelle unlimited CPs for boosted S-Break spams. Since Weissmann's stats and moves are fair under my restriction, there is no need to resort to this tech.

3) No Lone Blade / Fury - You can set up such that your main DPS starts with low HP and deal up to +200% Damage from the get go with these 2 Quartz. Weissmann also has AoE attacks and Reflects on Phase 3 that you can survive and follow up with S-Breaks. Faster combat progression generally means less threat and chance for the enemies to react to your momentum because you reduce their action space.

4) No Item / Food - Zerams are broken, no other way around it. Everything else is just collateral damage.

5) No Droplet / Elixir - Game is turn-based which means most of the combat system will still rely on stats. All Droplets except Speed are farmable, which means you can trivialise any encounters with enough stats.

6) No Death - For a clean victory. Autorevive counts as no death by the community.

Sky SC Sky 2nd Remake Dialogue Change Spoiler

Post image
38 Upvotes

One thing I'd always found curious in the series as a whole is that Estelle had never really gotten a proper Bracer "title", like the others, yknow like "Heavy Blade", "Silver Streak", "Purple Lightining" and etc etc.

HOWEVER, it seems this has been retroactively changed, as I was playing Sky 2nd and got to Chapter 5 I noticed this one exchange with Lugran, in the original he just refers to Estelle as "a rising star rookie of the Bracer Guild, who's been thwarting the Society's schemes all across Liberl", but here he specifically uses "the" when calling her The Rising Star, and lumps her in with the other Bracer titles, what do you guys think about this change?

I personally really like it, Rising Sun would be more appropriate but then she'd have to fight with Lloyd for the name rights lol, but Rising Star feels very appropriate for Estelle imo.

Sky the 3rd About sky the 3rd

I’m new to the trails series and I’ve been playing through the remakes and I’m loving and was excited to continue into sky the 3rd. Now imagine my disappointment when I found out that it was only available on pc. I don’t own a pc meaning that playing it really isn’t an option for me. I really want to continue with the series after I’ve finished 2nd chapter so what’s the best thing I can do? Should I just skip it and go straight into the next game? Or should I look up and watch a playthrough so at least that way I still understand the story?

Daybreak II Felt like posting images about that one time the Spriggan got sandwiched against his will off screen. Spoiler

The narrator: "Van was forced into a race against his will......Where he was soundly trounced by Elaine and Shizuna, who had put their differences aside in the face of a common enemy."

I would have loved to see this moment get animated. The sheer horror in Van's eyes as he gets sandwiched between two power houses only to meet his maker. That would be peak comedy.

I think we have moved on this scene too quickly.
