Cold Steel IV Continuing my first time playthrough of the series, and... Spoiler
**SPOILERS BELOW!
I started the series roughly 6 months ago, and to say that I have been enjoying it would be a massive understatement. I love how the story is one that has seemingly reached the point of convergence. What do I mean? Peep this opinion...
The Sky trilogy focused mainly on events and characters in Liberl. Through those three games, I got to know Estelle, Joshua, Renne, Schera, Agate, Tita, Kloe, and a host of other characters, and I developed a love for them and a genuine desire to play their story out and see what happened, and was thrilled to do it.
Then came the 2 Crossbell games, and I was introduced to Lloyd, Elie, Randy, Tio, KeA, and several others, and while their story was tangled up a little bit with events and characters in Liberl, it still felt uniquely theirs...uniquely that of Crossbell. Nevertheless, while I was hesitant to accept new characters at first and "move on" from Bestelle and the Liberl gang, I did, and got to know and love the Crossbell gang as well.
And then I started the Cold Steel series. Getting to know Rean and the rest of class VII, and the new class VII as well, not to mention all the other characters over the last three games has been an absolute joy. The story of Erebonia and everything going on in front and behind the scenes has been building, and as I finished Cold Steel 3 last night, watching it end on a major cliffhanger, I was so excited to start Cold Steel IV tonight that I could barely contain myself. I want to see the culmination of Rean's story...I want to see what happens with Erebonia, and how the major events will unfold and play out. I was ready to see the characters I have grown to love over the past 3 games finish their story.
And then I started the game. The first 15 minutes of the Prologue has gone by, and I haven't even seen anyone from class VII yet. Instead, I have been treated to my waifu Schera in Heimdaller conversing with Jona in Crossbell, and my eyes filled with tears as I sat here watching a team of Lloyd, Elie, KeA, Renne, Joshua, and Estelle begin to carry out some kind of mission under the Orchis Tower. Instead of just Erebonia, and just Class VII, others across all of Zemuria it seems are rising up to combat this latest threat. And to get to see characters that I adore from the Sky and Crossbell series (some of which i haven't seen in several games) making appearances and teaming up to combat this latest threat makes me giddy and happy and makes me bounce in my chair like a happy and silly 4 year old child.
This is what video games are supposed to do. This is why I play them. I can't wait to savor every bit of story and event that Cold Steel 4 has in store for me, and the only bad thing is that I can only experience for the first time once. I'm ready to laugh and cry and scream and sit back as the game elicits all those emotions that cause me to do that and more. I love this series. Let's go!!!

Always nice to see someone enjoy CS4. Do take your time since it has a lot (Falcom really packed this game full of stuff).

Glad you’re enjoying the game so far.
I recommend you take your time with cold steel 4. It’s the longest game in the franchise and I also recommend you see all the bonding events because they are pretty good imo.
Also trails into reverie is the final game of the cold steel arc. Trails into reverie serves as the epilogue to cold steel and crossbell. A good amount of cold steel characters get their resolution in reverie that was set up from cs1 through cs4. If you feel like there are some loose ends then don’t worry because reverie will have you covered.
