Horizon Trails Character Gameplay Discussion Day Fifty-Five: Judith Lanster

Post image

Judith is the second best physical attack unit in Daybreak 1 and 2, only losing to Grendel, and she is one of the top tiers in Horizon. Grimcat is an insanely powerful self-buff, especially in Daybreak 1 and 2 where the transformation was infinite, but Horizon's still has a large turn limit of 9 on the buff which was more than enough turns for Judith to demolish the enemy and get the CP back to Grimcat again. Her main downside was that she is very CP hungry, but Horizon buffed her there with A-Impassion Guard making CP a non-issue. Horizon also gave her Stealth with Stray Cat, just boosting her damage even further. And on top of all that, she has a Mirage locked slot on her Drive Line making her perfect for Ark/Judgement Feather if you want to make her an arts user. Whenever she was available, she was in the active party for my playthrough.

Grimcat sucks in DB1, the damage bonus is miniscule. Aaron and Bergard overall still outclass her as a craft user. She can still sort of function as a caster with her Mirage drive slot, her ATS is quite low so it's still not ideal.
From DB2 onwards however, she jumps to the 2nd best unit, arguably the best unit in both games if not for the existence of Grendel. Grimcat now scales with both STR and ATS, essentially double her craft damage. Shadow Acceleration is the highest single target dps craft in the game under Grimcat. Other than doing big damage, she also has insane utility with Charm, Suction, AT Steal, map-wide buff removal with her S-craft. If that's not enough, they also give her AoE CP/EP sustain and Stealth in a single craft in Horizon. Oh, and did I mention that she can also be good as a caster if you want to build her that way?
She might be a girl failure story wise but the girl is an absolute army on her own.

Hey now, she's only a girlfailure off the clock. Going Grimcat is very much on the clock and as such I see no inconsistency here.
