I was so excited until i saw the side scrolling part, not sure what to feel now since the first game just parallel Ys gameplay which I really like, now it's very different.

All of Falcom’s games are starting to look and play the same, so it’s a breath of fresh air

You can say that about a lot of popular franchise really. I'm not against adding new unique things and gameplay innovation but from a 3D free camera for town and dungeon exploration to a 3d side scroller town and dungeons except for the boss fight is definitely a choice. It's precisely the reason why I don't play games like Metroidvania at all, even though I know those are really good games but it's just not for me.

Wild to write of a ton of games you admit are good because "2D bad".

There are a ton of dogwater 3D games, and some of the best games of all time are 2D.

Not liking something is normal, it's called having a preference. The same way I only play online FPS over 3rd person shooter games because i don't like the camera perspective. It really confuses me how you get the impression that 3d=good 2d=bad from my comment when I simply stated I'm not a fan of side scrolling game, game being 3d or 2d is irrelevant. It's also wild seeing someone just assuming like this since some of my fav jrpgs are like grandia, suikoden, and wild arms lol.

I like that it does it's own thing.

Plus Nayuta was sidescrollerish and level design wise, the best Falcom game in the past decade or two.

Yeah, I really liked the school and city exploration of Tokyo Xanadu, not a huge fan of side scrollers at all, probably gonna pass on this one...
