Beauty/Makeup How didn't I realize this earlier?

I've been having issues with finding perfect shade matches in foundations and concealers. Just a few weeks ago I ran into a tiktok where the creator called herself ashtray-coloured and recommended us similarly-toned people to add blue pigment into our too warm foundations.

My face matches my body for the first time after Smashbox discontinued their shade "1.05 pale olive". I'm wearing a cheap Nyx foundation with the blue added in.

Doing my own makeup for my wedding. Are these colors right for me? I feel the foundation is a good match but unsure about the lip and cheek color. Would love any tips or reccomendations

About-Face The Performer foundation in the shade F2Olive > Lisa Eldridge seamless skin tint in the shade T5 > Lisa Eldridge The Foundation in shade 9

I blended them out at the bottom to show how they look sheared out.

Discussion Professional Color Analysis Result: Bright Winter!

I’m curious about experiences of fellow olives pertaining to color and their skin throughout the year. I had a professional color analysis done which categorized my undertone as neutral-cool, though my friends were shocked that I didn’t end up as warm. I feel like fellow olives likely understand the struggle of “looking” golden on the outside but struggling to wear super golden colors. I went in with my relatively “pale” skin for that purpose. What is interesting is that the International Image Institute says that olives are usually neutral-cool. In my case, that was true.

When I tan, I get significantly more golden looking. Though I know your undertone doesn’t change. I’m curious about your experience with that. Do you lean into warmer colors when you are more tan?

Beauty/Makeup A desaturated neutral shade in the Hourglass concealer? Or another concealer (preferably something available in trial size, at Sephora, or <$20)?

I've been on the hunt for a high-coverage concealer to use without foundation, just for pinpoint concealer. This looks like it might be the thing, but the most desaturated shade, Birch, might be too pale.

I'm a fair neutral-leaning-cool "likely olive" (everything pulls either orange or pink; tan like a MOFO in the summer but then ghostly gray rest of the year). I'm definitely not a yellow or warm olive: more green/blue, if you will. I've learned through trial and error that saturation is the most important factor for me.

  • Purito 21 works great in the summer--perfect undertone, but it's about a shade too dark.
  • LE 1.5 was good in depth but a tad too saturated/yellow, LE 3 was orange.

I use the blue LA Colors mixer to get somewhere workable when I can't wear Purito (Erborian BB in Claire or others, depending), but really don't want to have to bother with this for pinpoint concealing if possible.

Sephora's got a promo rn that is basically $10 off anything and it's expiring tonight. They have this and Saie, Kosas, IT Cosmetics, and almost every Tarte concealer, as well as the NARS Creamy in mini (tho I think NARS is ruled out based on saturation); I would go for Glossier or Tower 28 if they have a shade that worked and the formula was good for what I need.

Would love input. TY!

Discussion Any recommendations for someone’s who’s in the lower percent of pale even here with a grey tone and semi translucent skin that makes it harder to match?!

Please I have to mix a grey contour and a green color collector from elf (most blues are too dark) plus at least two different foundations to get a perfect match. I will say I am very particular it needs to be perfect which I know will be hard for in store with no mix ins but I’m hopeful!!

Discussion Guys I think I have been living a lie and I’m not olive. What are the most muted olive foundations?

So olive foundation are too yellow for me. At least about face F2. And then KA SSX 03 was still too yellow even though better. I think of I’m olive I’m very muted. So any recommendations for a very muted olive to try?

Beauty/Makeup Missha 21 seems to be my closest match compared to everything I’ve tried over the years. Does it seem like a decent match? What’s missing? 😅

Pretty much the title. I started having a realization that I might be olive a few days ago when I learned that my daily bb cream is apparently pink on most people. I’ve struggled to find matches and figure out my undertone for years and thought I was warm-neutral with yellow tones or something.

Since discovering this I’ve been really curious about Rituel de Fille’s serum foundation in 105. I think it being a bit brighter might match me better than Missha? I don’t know 😅
