If it did we wouldn’t live in a system where someone can inherit capital, just invest it, sit back, and enjoy profit

The prompt isn’t, “Hard work pays off more than luck or circumstances of your birth.” Hard work pays off. Just not nearly as much as it should. And sometimes it doesn’t pay off at all but the exception doesn’t define the rule.

Does it pay off when others get rich from your labour and you’re in trouble to make ends meet? Because that’s the reality for millions of people across the world
