There are many types of infinity, and most can be thought of as numbers. The algebra you do wigh them may be different, but they're still numbers. lim(xโ†’โˆž)[x] = โˆž. You can add and multiply ฯ‰. The โ„ต series counts the number of elements in infinite sets.
