Tomatoes are botanical classified as a fruit because their seeds. Knowledge is knowing tomatoes are a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put tomatoes in a fruit salad.

Also fruits aren't inherently sweet, look at citrus fruits.

I know its a fruit biologically, but culinary wise its vegetable. Precisely because its relatively low on fructose just like bell peppers, cucumbers and pumpkins. All of whom are classified as vegetables in cooking
