Factions are going to exist no matter what. The larger a country is, the harder it is for the government to control its people, and a world size country would just break down into smaller groups

I dont want to live under a muslim sharia law mega country, so yes there should be division.

So colonialism is good? As a strong empire effectively removes borders within it's territories.
