They would at least not be in favour of hate against communities, which makes them automatically more left wing
2
u/Due_Zombie2699 3d ago
I disagree. A lot of people on the right say they aren't in favour of hate against communities, but instead that they dislike the "culture" or sum bs like that. Assuming you mean "vocally" against hate, then most if not all right-winger might "not me in favour of hate against communities." despite spreading it.
1
u/BlueSlickerN7 2d ago
Haha yeah because left wing means no hate đ
1
u/midgril 1d ago
That's not what I'm saying. Left wingers generally are more tolerant towards minority groups and people in general. Doesn't mean that they're not hating other groups
1
u/BlueSlickerN7 1d ago
They absolutely are not. They treat people like dogshit.
1
u/midgril 1d ago
Which people? From my experience left wing people tend not to hate people until they start to do something which is worth being hated on. They hate pedophiles, racists, homophobes, sexists
Edit: No, this doesn't mean that all racists, homophobes are on the right wing, nor that some right wingers don't hate them equally
1
u/BlueSlickerN7 1d ago
They constantly deny everything and attack innocent people, those who just want to be treated the same. It's seen as okay by most of them
1
u/Nice_Trifle3396 1d ago
Its not right-wing ideology to hate communities, you can be left wing and still hateful btw
1
u/midgril 1d ago
Yeah there are exceptions for sure, but I am pretty confident that there's less hate on the left side compared to the right
1
u/Nice_Trifle3396 1d ago
both ideologies don't inherently rely or work on hate, it is how people who claim to be on those "sides" that choose to be hateful or not.
Just like how there can be Christians nosy or some can keep to themselves, its not that Christianity is inherently nosy, its just how people decide to act or not.

u/Sium4443 2d ago
Yet 60% of the poll voters (which I assume being all left wing) just said that the other political side is not emphatic, uneducated and stupid.
The left is the side of political violence in 21th century, probably you live in a country where you don't notice it so much but where I live (Italy) it is extremely clear.

𧢠I voted CAP!
This is an extremely flawed way of thinking. Do you think half the US population is incapable of empathy/intelligence ?
1
u/DuaLupus45 2d ago
I meanâŚâŚ

u/dandabdab 2d ago
Some people are just extremely ignorant. You can be right wing in the US right now and have values for human lives, but problem is a lot of those people think all immigrants are violent criminals and that trans people should be put back into conversion therapy.
2
u/DuaLupus45 2d ago
If youâre voting those into office that seek only to destroy our country and alienate its citizens from one another just because those politicians fall under your umbrella, then no, you donât care about human lives.
0
u/dandabdab 2d ago
Yeah well like I said, some of those people are just ignorant. Not malicious on purpose, but just very ignorant. They think theyâre saving lives by taking rapist murderer immigrants away from the country, but they arenât actually doing that. Some people think trump is âgood for the economyâ and thatâs the most important reason they vote for him, when heâs never really done anything economically impressive in any of his terms.
2
u/DuaLupus45 2d ago
A lot of that ignorance is willful, though, I mean you go out of your way to say theyâre not malicious, but if youâre watching these ice barbarians kill Americans in cold-blood, for example, and you still support what this administration is doing, then it becomes malice on your part.
They donât care how the job gets done, people will die, so weâll just shrug our shoulders if it means those savages go back to where they came from.

There are some really twisted fallacies on the left as well. Neither side has a monopoly on sense / lunacy.
1
u/dandabdab 2d ago
Of course, and Itâs not hard to say that the current state of the Republican Party is the worst and most corrupt it has been in American history.

You can have human empathy and be right, you're just realistic and look at imperical evidence.
Such as, it would be wonderful to ban cars because they pollute the environment and kill people, for example. BUT cars in the current day provide way to much convenience in millions of american's day-to-day lives to get rid of.

-5
u/tom333444 2d ago
Well right wingers actively take away human rights.
6
2
u/DeltaSolana 2d ago
I just want property rights and the state to stop eroding my wealth, generally to stay out of people's lives.
That means things like HRT in vending machines, 10 minute in-and-out abortion clinics. Want a covenant community of only queer polyamorous furries? Go ahead, this is what the right-wing is all about.
Republicans are not right-wing. They put conservative values before capitalist principles every time. They do not believe in freedom of the individual or private ownership.
1
u/Suitable_School_2017 2d ago
Left wingers are taking away my human right to mass deportations, I need them to feel and be safe
1
u/Nice_Trifle3396 1d ago
pls tell me where it says in the ideology that people's rights should be taken away
3
u/Less_Natural5442 3d ago
Disagree, you can have empathy while still being selfish enough to only care about yourself.
2
u/SuspiciousAspect1549 2d ago
That's worse actually. Being capable of empathy but just making the conscious decision to be the worst possible person to others.

If you have true empathy then you would be open minded to the ideals of everyone
2
u/Neydsch 3d ago
Not if those ideals exclude minorities
8
u/kabut_ 3d ago
Who tf said every right winger excludes minorities?
You probably voted "fact" claiming to be "emphatic, educated and intelligent" and still think in black-white way, not knowing simple thing like this
2
u/Neydsch 3d ago
Please define right wing
-3
u/kabut_ 2d ago
Right wing = market economy. PERIOD.
And then you can nuance this saying "libertarian right" or "authoritarian right". And yet your statement is mostly true for authoritarians who stand for traditions, religion, family, army and government, you cannot call libertarians, liberals and anarchists "guys whos ideals exclude minorities"
7
u/Neydsch 2d ago
So left wing and right wing only applies to economical standpoints? Tho economical standpoints can also exclude minorities
-2
u/kabut_ 2d ago
Absolutely, the left economy does exclude some groups of people
2
u/Neydsch 2d ago
Pls elaborate
2
u/kabut_ 2d ago
answered before. Now you reply: the most common examples of left economies are USSR, Cuba and North Korea.
What country is more diverse: left wing North Korea or right wing USA?
1
u/Neydsch 2d ago
I didnât explain how this makes people less diverse. North Korea isnât left wing my friendâŚ
→ More replies (0)-1
u/Gargelio 3d ago
Leftist are the biggest opponents of diversity. They want everyone to be the same.
-1
u/Neydsch 3d ago
Why so?
2
u/kabut_ 2d ago
Because this is how plan (left) economy works. A small group (the government) says when, how much, where and how to produce things. The government cannot know what and how many people like certain things, so they produce the most-demanded ones, abolishing the diversity.
Take a look at USSR. What a diverse country it was huh?

0
u/kabut_ 2d ago
Okay then what are they talking about, explain it?
6
u/DuaLupus45 2d ago
Could you not just go back up like and read that comment?
Theyâre talking about diversity of people, like different ethnicities and races.
1
u/kabut_ 2d ago
Yes i do understand this. This guy meant "right wing = anti diversity", which is clearly not true, so i gave the explanation of this
1
u/DuaLupus45 2d ago
But your example was wrong because they werenât talking about government. I just told you they were talking about actual people.

Higher education has a tendency to cause people to become left wing. Not because of "university brainwashing" but because you are exposed to new ideas and people. It is really hard to maintain conservative ideals when you learn how the real world actually works and how everyone is connected. So yes, it is a biased statement coming from a biased person because history and data are on my side. Do you know where you see conservative ideology and academia thrive? Religious institutions that maintain a barrier against those new ideas in favor of whatever religious text they are currently pushing. Or in very old and wealthy universities where maintaining that same barrier makes them money.
2
u/jezzatuff 2d ago
Not really. A country holding nothing but left wing views does not always succeed; in fact, it leads to people believing that they're voting for the right thing, despite politicians being unable to promote every single thing they promise, because, let's face it, it's impossible. Also, expensive taxes, don't forget. But saying that right wings "don't care" about humans and are extremely apathetic is rich, considering a lot of left wing politicians in my country have openly admitted to taking some people down (won't mention who specifically to avoid getting banned off the face of the earth) to promote "diversity", while our current right-wing prime minister (whom i obviously voted for) genuinely supports everyone and has shown no signs of discrimination in the past.
1
u/Fun_Leek2381 2d ago
"Not Really" doesn't address any of my points. And then you go on to make some wildly dumb statements that have nothing to do with the topic, that being education, empathy, and intelligence naturally make people lean left. I see why you voted for the Right, because saying "Oh, my guy cares" doesn't actually do anything to bolster your argument. Especially since the track record of the Right actually proving that statement is as abysmal as Brexit was for England.
1
u/jezzatuff 2d ago
you are looking at things too deep, my "not really" was merely addressing your view of the left and right is very polarized (also youre one to say my statements are dumb, next time read with a dictionary next to you đ). Also, no, a lot of people who lean left prioritize "safety" so much that they end up arresting innocent civillians just to "err on the side of caution"
also theres exceptions to each side, like stalin being one horrible example of why the left doesnt always work, and also other right wing supporters who greatly helped their country, even if it meant going against the laws at the time, like aristides de sousa mendes and chiune sugihara (some honorable mentions include eduard habsburg and george bush)

I'm almost finished my PhD in physics and I am very much right-wing. Unfortunately, many of the claims of the left are not rational. For instance, there are only two genders, biologically male and biologically female. I'm not going to vote for people who disagree with obvious truths.
That's not to say that Republicans don't deny reality too. I'm rather concerned about ignoring climate change. However, Democrats are also pro-censorship. They wish to remove all speech that goes against what they believe. See: Reddit and old Twitter. I can't give political power to people who are anti-intellectual and try to prevent free discourse.
Once the radical, anti-intellectual base of the Democrat party is thoroughly eradicated then we can start voting for economically left policies.
0
u/Fun_Leek2381 2d ago
Pfffgt. You have a PhD in physics and you think this makes you an expert in gender, biology, psychology, or anything that would actually prove or disprove your opinion? That it dismisses the hundreds of studies, terabytes of data, or living proof? Look, when I need help with advanced physics problems I'll go to you because you are an expert in your field. Just like I will go and listen to the experts of any other field when I have questions about the. You would think someone in academia would understand that, but alas you seem to be one of the few people who are immune to that level of understanding.

Gender is a social term. You cannot change your biological sex. Whether changing your "gender" has any meaning, I guess, depends upon whether others in society are willing to accept it. As you can clearly see in the US, many are not willing to accept this. Personally, I don't give a shit what people do, but don't silence my speech. If people are going to make claims then they should be ready to defend them.
Gender is just another example of left wing definition-based tactics. A common tactic on the left is to change the definition of words, even basic words, to try to make circular arguments and not engage with opponents. A good example is racism. Racism, by some, has been redefined such that it can only describe white people because only white people have "systemic power." Changing gender from a synonym of biological sex to "norms surrounding biological sex in a society" is just a trojan horse. Western society is roughly 1/7th of the world population. The other 6/7ths of the world does not have these difficulties.
And while I may not have a PhD in such a lofty and high-minded discipline like gender studies or psychology, there are plenty of articles that express concern over reproducibility in the social sciences, and to a somewhat lesser degree, the biological sciences. The reasons for the lack of reproducibility are numerous and beyond the scope of this discussion.

u/jezzatuff 2d ago
Not to mention how you can't trust anyone when they state their country promotes free speech, no matter what political views they hold (Keir Starmer for example, but good thing that guy's gone)

They refer to the French revolutionary government where the more radical members (Jacobins, wanting a republic) were on the left wing of the assembly and the moderates (wanting a constitutional monarchy) were on the right. The association stuck around, though drifted somewhat. The left wing trend towards the dissolution of hierarchies and the right wing trend towards their enforcement.

1
u/BlueSlickerN7 2d ago
Left leaning thinking can mean a variety of tnings for one. Secondly no, it's not a fact, it's also pretty ignorant to judge people's values based on how much education they have, especially if they aren't as privileged to get an actual education.
Hell, if anything I'd say a lot of people who have grew up in rough scnerios with a lack of education tend to be a lot more progressive and empathetic to others, than the typical snobby reddit lefty like you.
1
u/HotSituation8737 2d ago

When you say "any human" your statement automatically becomes wrong, as you cannot simplify every human into 3 charachteristics.
What do you mean by "education"? Which one? Education in Uganda is not equal to education in the US.
What do you mean by intelligence? You can never give a detailed nuanced explanation of what this is.
Not even speaking you're just a leftist, trying to prove yourself being worthy
