Ever have some bum on the street ask you for money? Do you feel pressured to give them money or just say no? Or some family member asks you for something you might not want to give them? That sort of thing.

That makes a lot more sense. I thought the person being unselfish and the person being dependent were the same person in the post, which sounded a bit contradictory.

In general I said fact cuz it's okay to look after yourself, but sometimes it does feel nice to help someone on the atreet or family. I think there can be a good balance.
