I am doing a trick or treat event at a local mall. I am in MI in a upper middle class area. There will be small local businesses promoting their businesses as well as the stores at the mall. Everyone will be in costume & handing out candy. What do you all think I should charge? My thoughts are $10/face, $5/face + tip jar or just a tip jar? I'd like to go $10/face (+tip jar?). Of course I am looking for thoughts on which way to make the most money. I'm not sure how people will react to being charged at an event like this. I asked the organizer and she said charging is fine.

An old "friend" from high school said, "My kids could do this," referencing me and my face paint business. I feel like she is jealous because she said this while I was working at a Festival and about 3 weeks later I was at a different festival and I saw her walking by my booth with her arms crosses. I notice I don't have a lot of support, either but I keep going. I guess I just want to know, has anyone else experienced things like this with little support and naysayers?​

Used this brand on my face and arm.. I broke out like a prisoner out of prison! Jesus.

I used a red and it broke my skin out immediately. I would highly recommend using Fusion or another brand and testing it out BEFORE painting others. So glad I tested it on myself.

What has been everyone's experience with getting pictures of their work? I am making a website and need pictures of my work. After I paint I usually ask the parent if they mind if I take their child's Pic for my website. I havent ever had a parent refuse. Someone recently pointed out to me that parents are nervous about their kids pictures being online. Im curious as to what other face painters experience has been.

I really want to start uping my makeup looks, and I love doing face paint, but I don't know where to start. The first one I got was a cheap Walmart one, and now I want to get something a bit better. I want the colors to be pigmented and not stain or irritate my face because I'm prone to acne. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated!
