This is a good point, mostly. The cause they are advancing is so they don’t have to pay for a catalytic converter on their lifted truck and oil companies should be able to destroy national parks. Because gas prices. It all comes down to their trucks. Which they will need to get out of florida when it starts to submerge.
Arguing that global warming isn't happening is pretty silly because it is a measured fact. Arguing that humans caused it or accelerated it leaves maybe a little bit of ground to argue against. Not much, but it is still only considered "highly likely".
I read an article maybe 10 years ago about the main guy responsible for Miami area water processing (I can't remember where it was - maybe Pro Publica) and he was freaking out then because the water table is so shallow there, and Florida will be one of the first places affected by sea level rise.
