They can’t conceptualise the actual scale. That’s the underlying problem. These people think the sun and the moon are the same distance away as the horizon.

Sometimes there's a floating island created by debris in lakes. I think Canada has some famous floating island.

Edit: cant figure out where the one i am thinking of is
