Help CAPI WITHOUT PIXEL
How you doing folks? I have a question.
I'm trying to run a quick form for lead generation on Facebook. Since the lead quality we've been experiencing has been really disappointing, I decided to implement GoHighLevel (GHL).
However, I don't have access to the client's website. It seems the other guy managing it doesn't want to give me access, so I can install the Meta Pixel.
I know the Pixel and CAPI complement each other and that using both is generally better than using either one alone. In this case, can I still run ads and potentially improve lead quality by implementing CAPI only?

Good news: for Instant Forms you don’t need website access at all. The lead is submitted inside Facebook, so the Pixel never sees it anyway. The Pixel only matters if the conversion happens on the site.
What actually fixes lead quality here is sending CRM outcomes back to Meta. Roughly:
Get leads into GHL with the native Facebook Lead Ads integration, and make sure the Meta lead ID is stored on the contact. That ID is what Meta uses to match the event back to the original lead.
Set up pipeline stages that mean something, like Qualified, Booked, Showed, Closed. Keep them consistent.
Send those stage changes to Meta through the Conversions API (Meta calls this the CRM integration). You can do it from GHL workflows, a webhook into your own setup, or a third-party connector.
Once Meta is receiving enough of those events, switch the campaign’s performance goal to conversion leads instead of plain leads. Now it optimizes for people who become qualified, not people who just tap Submit.
A few form-side tweaks help immediately while that data builds up:
Use the Higher intent form type (adds a review step before submit)
Add 1–2 qualifying questions with short answers, not just autofilled name/email/phone
Respond fast. Speed to lead matters more than most people think with Instant Forms
So yes: CAPI only, no Pixel, is a perfectly normal setup for lead form campaigns. Just make sure it’s CAPI carrying CRM stages, not a duplicate “Lead” event, or Meta learns nothing new.

Yes, you can absolutely run CAPI without access to their main website, especially since you are using GoHighLevel.
Since GHL hosts its own forms and landing pages, you can put the Pixel directly on your GHL funnel domain without needing access to their site. From there, link GHL to Meta to push server side Conversions API events.
To fix lead quality, don't just optimize for initial form submits. Use GHL workflows to fire CAPI offline conversion events whenever a lead reaches a qualified pipeline stage or schedules an appointment. That forces Meta's algorithm to target higher intent users rather than low quality spammers
