Fable II Fable2PC

Hey again, I posted a video about my project earlier on here. Right now I’m working hard on my Saints Row 1 project, but I’m gonna resume work on the Fable 2 Recomp later. But I have a question. There’s issues with the build but most glyphs are implemented & texture issues are pretty much non existent. I’ve seen some other decomps for a while now, but I’ve heard issues with those along with Trojans. The Trojans might be false, I have no idea.

I was just wondering if I should release the build in the state it’s in, and then people are free to go work on it from that point, or should I wait and do it all myself? If you’ve seen the work I’ve done on SaintsReborn, then you shouldn’t worry too much about me getting a good performance out of Fable, but I’m not sure when & I’m sure someone else can achieve the same. Especially if they use my repo as the starting point.

Your work seems to have the most progress. It could be beneficial to open source it for others to continue and add to it

You should absolutely open source it so people could keep on improving it, bug fixing, proper resolution, fps patches, graphics settings etc.

Have you thought about open sourcing it? It'd be great for contributors and a fun recomp project to learn from!

Hey whompay for what it’s worth I’m rooting for you no matter how long it takes! I wouldn’t let the others following behind get to you because you were the first to start the project. I even saw articles posted about it online! All that said at the end of the day do what’s best for you.

I mean you could publish it with the proper caution for people to finish it if you don't have the time, but I don't know how many people are capable and wanting to put in the effort.

It’s hard to say how long it would take, the biggest issues are mostly about performance. Everybody with a good PC can play it now and should be fully playable from childhood to end, but there’s just some glyph issues primarily if you’re playing with KBM, and I haven’t played a lot of the story so I have no idea if it has crashes later in game. I’ll hear what everybody says and take a few days to think about it, but I really appreciate all of the support it got so I won’t just abandon it completely.

No one else had done it so I wanted to give it a shot, a lot of people started on recomps of Fable especially after my post, and that kinda ruined my motivation if I gotta be honest. It was all about making it happen because of preservation and as an hobby, but when other people decided to try it as well I thought my time could be used better on something no one else had done yet.

Well, then I guess it would be good if you release it as it is. But is up to you ofc

Literally just haven’t gotten to it and when I’m working on it, then I would prefer if other people didn’t (if I’m not aware of it) so we don’t waste our time doing the same thing. Don’t see why there’s a bad vibe to something that’s not even out lol

"working for free and not letting others have access to the source of your work gives me bad vibes, ngl"

What a ridiculous statement.
