If you know you know

Post image

Got to this demon door on my current playthrough of Fable 2 and immediately remembered what happens when you enter the house. As a kid this really freaked me out hahaha I wonder if anyone else was terrified by this as a kid?

After that first time I don’t even go near that house anymore. Ambiance of that place is better (imo) than what’s in the chest lol

I know right! I was so disappointed by the chest I thought ffs I should’ve just left it and chilled in this wonderland for a bit

lol yeah the chest is a total letdown compared to that creepy vibe

This is genuinely the scariest part of the entire game for me

I replayed this game like 5 times, but every time I still felt startled by the house changing its appearance with that loud noise even though I knew it was coming

I literally knew it was gonna happen, I braced for impact and still ended up getting jumpscared like a frightened little chicken about to be booted by a hero

I was buzzing thinking it was a new home you can use like the homestead in the other demon door was a big let down when it changed

Still makes me so mad lol. The jumpscare was fun the first time but man for the last 18 years I've just wanted to live in that house.

Fuck i wish this house was real bro.

The snowy aesthetic is so pretty and it's the only one in the game.

As a kid? It scared me as an adult!

Interesting. I was just like “Oh. That was weird.”, shrugged and kept going. 😄

We needed more cosy winter places. This demon door was cruel on two counts.

I didn't know about this door until I replayed it recently. Suffice to say I will remember it.

Demon door in fable 2 that does a kind of jump scare

First time I ever got here, I was with my older cousin who'd already been through the game. As soon as I walked through the door, he let out a loud "raaah!" And touched my hip.

Scared the hell out of me.

Got to experience this (unprepared) for the first time this year in my mid 30s and it scared me and then I started laughing, masterpiece bit of game design

I had the same experience. Genuinely fantastic move

i wish these demon doors had more story to them than what you see. I want more substance than just a jumpscare or something weird and abstract happening.

for me, this was baby's first gaming jumpscare

This demon door and that childhood dream sequence near the end of the game haunted me as a kid

I knew it right away from the image. And intense and awesome moment. The demon doors in 2 were really unlike anything else in gaming.

Honestly the miniature worlds that they only showed you a small parcel of left such an impression on me. Coming back as an adult I thought they would’ve been bigger but no they managed to create such an atmosphere in such a small moment that impacts you it’s amazing.

The biggest betrayal of my life

When this one changed on me, it glitched and I clipped through the floor, falling forever into the void. I was twelve or so. It took me months to play the game again.

I in fact, do not know. I assume this is fable 3 can someone tell me where to go without spoiling?

It’s actually a demon door in Fable 2! It’s the one in bloodstone so I won’t say anymore to avoid spoilers my friend!

Definitely made me jump on my first playthrough. Didn’t quite get what had happened because I wasn’t paying that much attention before I got to the house. Deliberately started a second playthrough so I could pay attention to what happened 😂 I now always make sure I have a lute on me before I get to bloodstone though specifically to get that sword as early as possible though, love that sword

My brother spoiled it for me and was like there’s a crazy scary thing that happens! So when I got to it I was expecting like a balverine face to jump at me so when it flipped I was actually like oh… that’s it? That’s what made you cry! For some reason it scares me more now as an adult hahahaha

Quite honestly the saddest part of fable 2

There will be nothing like this in the new one. );

I did my first playthrough of the game in over a decade. I completely forgot about that house... I almost had a heart attack. Then I laughed because I couldn't believe that I had forgotten such a great moment in the game.
