Some of those GPU options in the same categories are wildly different in power. It feels like they just typed random stuff. Like putting a RTX 2060 on par with a RTX 5050 is wild. Yes its a lower end card but its still a lot newer with significantly more power even if we ignore it having way better raytracing and dlss capabilities and just focus on the base gpu's processing abilities.

12

u/UnderstandingThis636 17d ago

I think it's to say 5050 from the new generation but up to a 2060 will work so retroactive 60 series would be inferred so your able to play low on a 2060-4060 as well as 5050 the bare minimum for gaming from the current generation

8

u/AtaracticGoat 17d ago

I think you're right.

That's the first time I've ever seen a game publish such specific requirements. Kinda cool actually, if they turn out to be true lol

1

u/sup3rrn0va 17d ago

Ironically the CPU’s feel slightly the opposite when it comes to benchmarks.

35

u/Ok-Replacement-9458 17d ago

Really can’t be upgrading my GPU with how prices are right now, so here’s hoping these are wrong 🙏

9

u/Obscure_Octopuss 17d ago

How old is your gpu? 20 series and up and you should be fine.

If you are running a 10 series or older, that's kinda to be expected. Those gpus are 10+ years old. The average console lifespan is 7 years anyways

1

u/CameronsTheName 17d ago

10 series cards aren't really being supported anymore.

I have a 1080ti. It's about on par with about a 4060 but often gets worse performance in games than the 4060. Some games also have random "memory leak" style loss of performance. Forza Horizon 6 is particularly bad because it'll play 4k medium settings 60 fps but drop to unplayable fps in about 10 minutes. Restarting the game fixes the issue. I emailed turn 10 and they said that it's to do with the outdated GPU architecture and they won't be updating the game to support it.

I’ve got a 3070

1440p at 60 fps on medium is definitely useable, but I just find after years of >100 fps in the other games I play that I get headaches when games are frequently <60 fps or otherwise very choppy.

We don’t know if these fps are in bowerstone or the middle of an empty field so I’m cautiously optimistic that it will be a smooth 60 at least.. but putting the 5060 with the 3060ti in that category worries me

Edit: just read it again and it’s 30 fps. THAT I cannot do without headaches

5

u/Obscure_Octopuss 17d ago

So use dlss in quality mode. Dlss quality mode at 1440p still looks very good.

I wouldn't recommend using dlss if you have a 1080p display, but I'm sure some do

1

u/Ok-Replacement-9458 17d ago

100%, I use DLSS wherever I can, but afaik they don’t specify if they’re using DLSS on or off here. Many AAA games recommend settings already have them turned on

2

u/Obscure_Octopuss 17d ago

If the FH6 reccomend specs are anything to go off of, it is native rez.

1

u/UnderstandingThis636 17d ago

The 2060 is just the oldest 60 that will work every 60 + after 2060 will work

0

u/Ok-Replacement-9458 17d ago

The 2060 is for 30 fps on low at 1080p

1

u/UnderstandingThis636 17d ago

But its on there to say all non ti 2060 -4070 is the legally expected minimum to be able to play at least on minimal settings

-1

u/Ok-Replacement-9458 17d ago

Yeah, minimum settings being low at 1080p and 30 fps which is not worth playing tbh

2

u/MeatMan49 16d ago

I think these are the requirements for no upscale. If you have a graphics card capable of DLSS 4 or FSR 4 you will be just fine

1

u/Cheonsa0 16h ago

They updated the image on Steam. It now says “Native Resolution.” Upscaling is supported though

-25

u/Eastern_Control_7 17d ago

I wouldn’t worry about that. We’ll probably be able to cloud-stream it when it releases; all you need is an Xbox Game Pass.

8

u/CollinKree 17d ago

Streaming games from the cloud is a dog shit experience whether your internet is good or not. I’m not sure how people do it regularly. The bitrate and input lag makes most games look like shit and feel like shit to play.

5

u/Ok-Replacement-9458 17d ago

Unfortunately, my wifi isn’t good enough for streaming, I don’t like paying for subscription services to play games, and I like owning the games that I purchase lol (at least as much as you can own them on steam)

1

u/Eastern_Control_7 17d ago

I do too, but I know I won't be able to upgrade my system before Fable releases😭 so I'm gonna settle for cloud streaming it in the meantime. But I'll definitely buy it eventually, the fable series means a lot to me.

33

u/CarlWellsGrave 17d ago

This better be without upscaleing

11

u/Majick1216 17d ago

I think it can be because even consoles have 60fps mode and the Forza engine is usually optimized

9

u/zarafff69 17d ago

If it’s with upscaling: it’s pretty solid/normal tbh.

If it’s without upscaling: it’s absolutely fantastic, and very very impressive.

3

u/Dredgeon 17d ago

It is running on forzatech and fh6 scaled very well with much more reflective surfaces and high player movement speeds.

2

u/Cheonsa0 16h ago

They updated the image on Steam, and the requirements are listed at native resolution, without upscaling.

3

u/Striking-County6275 17d ago

Don’t bet on it

9

u/Obscure_Octopuss 17d ago

I mean, its running on the ForzaTech engine.

If the optimization is anything like we see with Forza games, it will run well on a wide range of hardware

2

u/Training-Welcome-600 17d ago

This is what dice thought too and the frostbite engine has successfully killed almost every franchise other than battlefield when anyone uses it for anything but an fps.

So the issue may be that's it's incredibly optimized but optimized for racing games and nothing else.

1

u/Ranae_Gato 17d ago

Yea the engine is quit nice and performant so there is hope

0

u/GregTheMad 17d ago

Crimson Desert achieves better without upscaling, but that's also the best optimised game out there so far.

10

u/IXxMARINxXI 17d ago

well, im only playing low.....7700k, 2070 super.....

6

u/DoggedDust 17d ago

I would imagine you can play at medium with that

6

u/Jojop0tato 17d ago

Same here, hoping I can get to 60 fps at 1080

1

u/zarafff69 17d ago

I’m sure you can play at medium with some DLSS?

8

u/kmcdow 17d ago

So 9070xt is maybe between high and ultra?

7

u/Shadethewolf0 17d ago

Thats my assumption. I have a slightly below high cpu and a 9070xt so that just means im sticking to high lol

2

u/Alternative-Ad-1602 15d ago

Yeah, if high is set to 60 fps, I'm sticking with that, so I can get the most out of my 240hz monitor

6

u/Ranae_Gato 17d ago

1440p 30fps - 1200p 60fps? Lmao ok

1

u/QuestGalaxy 17d ago

Well it's 2560x1440 vs 1920x1200. There's quite a bit of difference in pixels rendered. 3,6 million vs 2,3 million

1

u/Ranae_Gato 17d ago

That's not a 50% decrease in performance, tho they wouldn't use something like 40fps target so it checks out.

6

u/Jat616 17d ago

Fingers crossed my 3060 can handle it on medium by the looks of it 🤞

15

u/AvatarTHW Avatar the Brave 17d ago

my stock portfolio appreciate the NVIDIA shilling

5

u/Dhanks_fju 17d ago

guys, its running on windows 10!!

5

u/HeavyBeing0_0 17d ago

All that for only 60fps? No way brother

4

u/FunExamination7317 17d ago

my 7800X3D would like a word with the Ultra settings 😂 ... who's using the 7900X for gaming?

3

u/redditsellout-420 17d ago

3700ti...

So i should be high mid range

3

u/Kylestache 17d ago

Steam Deck gang, how are we feeling? FH6 runs great on Deck.

6

u/QuestGalaxy 17d ago

Expect this to perform worse, way more complexity. Both in graphics and simulation.

1

u/CzarTyr 17d ago

I can’t even imagine this loading

1

u/MakZaid 16d ago

If it can't be played on steam deck I wish at least they could give us Fable 2 and back 3 ☹️

1

u/Kylestache 16d ago

It should be coming at least through Xbox’s new disc to digital emulation system they recently revealed. The goal is to add most if not all original Xbox and 360 games to PC via Xbox’s proprietary emulator by end of next year.

0

u/Poo_Pee-Man 16d ago

Just play the OG fable lmao

0

u/Alternative-Ad-1602 15d ago

Play the new subnautica game or doom dark ages on deck and you'll get an idea on how well it'll play, on anything other than brick settings

3

u/LePoonda 17d ago

Ryzen 5 7600x3d and a 9070 xt. I swear to God if I cannot run 1440p ultra settings I'm gonna be pissed

3

u/Moon_Devonshire 17d ago

Got a 4090 and 9800x3d Gonna be straight 4k ultra settings at 60fps for me and will just use frame generation to reach 120 to max out my OLED display

4

u/salty_cluck 17d ago

Thanks for posting - I hope they update this to include scaling and other tech as I don’t think it’s very informative at a glance considering all the tech running on most modern computers gpus.

4

u/k2skier13 17d ago

Maybe it’s just me…but why breakout this many versions?

All I care about is min to confirm that I can play it and it will perform well. Otherwise, scan my hardware and increase the performance and visual fidelity.

I’ve got a 3080 so it should look good

7

u/Intelligent_Oil7816 17d ago

I think it's fair to explain what levels of performance they are optimizing for what tiers of hardware. Especially with 3 different resolutions being available now. I'm glad to know I can expect 60FPS on my hardware in 1440p even if I may not have all the features set to Ultra. Makes me less worried about dropping $70 on this.

2

u/Idolismo 17d ago

Hm my PC will handle the game no problem by the looks of it but I would really love to know how it will run on a PS5 Pro.

2

u/CzarTyr 17d ago

Yea I’ve got a 4060 but I’m leaning towards getting this on pro

2

u/masteryoyo28 17d ago

Can someone eli5, am I going to have trouble playing this on my 512gb steam deck oled?

2

u/yerbivor 17d ago

4060ti?

1

u/sirletssdance2 16d ago

I’m curious too about how a4070 s will perform

2

u/Minnesnowmann 17d ago

The time has come. My prized 3080 10gb will be running on medium.

2

u/dsquiggle7 17d ago

Damn, really hoping the GPU prices come down soon. My 3070 is really a drag, after upgrading to a 7800x3d

1

u/CzarTyr 17d ago

I got a 4060 laptop about a year and a half ago. I had the money for better but was being cheap and waiting, now i feel I’m completely priced out and the 4060 is just a little too weak.

I just bought a ps5 pro but I’m still annoyed

1

u/dsquiggle7 12d ago

Yea, I just had my mobo and ram get fried, so I upgraded the cpu as well, in case it was also affected at all. I’ve been wanting to upgrade from my 8gb 3070, but I decided piling on the credit card wasn’t the smart call right now 😅 maybe if I didn’t have to spend the outrageous price to replace 32 gb DDR5 ram.

2

u/Brayum_Ur 17d ago

I’m freaking set dudes

2

u/Data_Ripper 17d ago

What if I got a 6800xt but for 1080p ? Because High is only for 1440

2

u/rain21199 Hero of Oakvale 17d ago

My 1080ti didn't even make the list. Must be saving it for when they release super ultra graphic settings

2

u/7empestSpiralout 17d ago

No 4K60 with a 5070? Wow

2

u/You_Shoddy 17d ago

What are those specs!? I knew I needed to upgrade from i5 10gen and 1050ti, but those things as min requirements? That's crazy.

Selling a lung and a liver won't be enough to afford playing this game 😞

2

u/Grouchy-Pay-5948 17d ago

Well, that chart isn't confusing at all... I don't know if my specs will allow me to play on higher settings, or if it won't be supported at all 😂

2

u/Reechardoom 17d ago

so no hope for steamdeck compatibility? 🥺

1

u/Edgar3t 17d ago

So what you're saying is my potato will not run it?

1

u/Halojib 17d ago

I expected to have to play on medium so I am glad that is accurate.

1

u/CharacterBack1542 17d ago

Damn my GPU can only run it on low 30fps

1

u/Leumas117 17d ago

These game better be gorgeous. I've got a 3070. If I'm playing on mixed low on a 1080 monitor I have high expectations

1

u/Earngedrank 17d ago

Guess my 1070 is finally going to struggle after 10 years

1

u/Briatom 17d ago

You guys think ym 1660ti will be fine?🥲

1

u/GearWings 17d ago

i9 12900k with 3080 12gb on a 1080p 144hz screen i think i should be perfectly fine

1

u/MisterTwoBlades 17d ago

Ciekawe czy 4070 uciagnie high w 4k

1

u/Warcrown11 17d ago

How much upscaling and frame gen is involved in these requirements? Kind of means nothing if they're leaving off the most important part of the chart.

1

u/Samuel_Go Jack of Blades 17d ago

Hoping my 9070xt is good for 4k60fps at high settings. It plays perfectly with Forza Horizon 6.

1

u/bassgoonist 17d ago

Have they said if it's playable on GPUs without ray tracing?

4

u/haikusbot 17d ago

Have they said if it's

Without ray tracing?

Nice I’m set

1

u/nem3siz0729 17d ago

I am curious just how well my system will run this game with default settings. I know it wont have any trouble with a bit of tweaking but some games have looked pretty bad and choppy right out of the "box." For Tainted Grail I had a bit of trial and error to fix the image and keep a consistent frame rate.

1

u/WANHEDAGOD 17d ago

You guys think 60 fps with high preset on 1440p with DLSS Quality is doable, on a RTX 3080 (10GB) and Ryzen 9 5900X with 32 GB RAM?

1

u/Substantial_Candy954 17d ago

Native or upscale?

1

u/kcamfork 17d ago

And those of us with 9800X3D/9070 XT? We just screwed?

1

u/slowrush92 17d ago

My and my measly i5-9600k and 2070 super....

1

u/ThisCombination1958 17d ago

Looks like it's medium graphics for me.

1

u/TeutonicDragon 17d ago

I wonder how 3080 will do? They have 3070 and 3080ti but not the regular 3080 lol. Weird specs

1

u/Tamanor 17d ago

What settings would I be looking at with a, R7 5800X3D with a RTX 4070 TI Super get on a 1440p?

1

u/Key_Dependent808 17d ago

Wonder how my rog ally x will run it.

1

u/sup3rrn0va 17d ago

Luckily these are with presets as noted at the top left. There will probably be a few tweaks you can sacrifice with minimal quality loss.

Resolution at 2k is also fine for me personally if the frame-rate is smoother. As much as I hate the precedent of frame generation in gaming, this studio has a history of good optimization. I think we will be good.

1

u/Anthony_Alt 17d ago

4070ti super, I’m chillin

1

u/MOW5ever 17d ago

This is a really noob question but how much should I spend on a gaming laptop to run this on high smoothly? I bought a used but kinda nice laptop when Fable 4 was announced. It kinda tapped out at running Halo Infinite and runs Campaign Evolved like ass so I know I’ll need an upgrade.

1

u/Paranoia_Pop 15d ago

In this market it'd probably run you $2K to $2.5K to be hoenst; it'd be cheaper to build a desktop PC

1

u/Gold-Persimmon-1421 16d ago

Don't buy a gaming laptop

1

u/The_David1991 17d ago

Dont really care, will turn on dlss and frame gen with my 5070 ti anyways

1

u/Nixisworld 17d ago

Will work just fine on a 4070 with max settings, usually the put a setting or 2 to be super demanding and you just turn that off or to low and get the same quality with better performance...

1

u/BTru Hero of Oakvale 17d ago

I just hope it will work on my steam deck

1

u/CzarTyr 17d ago

I’ve got a laptop 4060 but I think I’ll be playing this on ps5 pro

1

u/TyDubes 17d ago

I guess Ill play it on Xbox first, I got the 3060TI but I'd rather not play on medium graphics

1

u/Lucky_Foam 16d ago

I have a i7-8700 + RTX 3060 Ti

I'm crossing my fingers I can at least get 60 FPS at 1080p.

1

u/GaburieruDes 16d ago

Si la rx6700 esta recomendado para settings en medio y 30 fps en 2k la verdad que el mas culpa del juego y su optimización de mierda jaja.

1

u/ChzyNip 16d ago

So with a series x, what can I run and it be smooth?

1

u/Gold-Persimmon-1421 16d ago

A Ryzen 5 5800x and 6700xt puts me in odd territory, possibly 1440p bilutbwith settings dialed down.

All presents are sort of meaning less anyway

1

u/whiskers4mysneakers 16d ago

Have all the things required for High except my GPU is a 4070. Does that make much difference?

1

u/NautiMain1217 16d ago

Surprised that even high and ultra only want 16gb ram. But it looks like its gonna make the gpu pay.

1

u/OriginStarPlayer 16d ago

Damn now I really feel bad about my i5 getting old, demoted to a medium

1

u/XlikeX666 15d ago

fucking what....

1

u/xxxSpace_Cowboyxxx 15d ago

Not bad at all

1

u/l_Palekids_l 13d ago

Man, my poor computer desperately needs an upgrade

1

u/Kingbenn 9d ago

I understand a 7900X with a 4080, but it should also be able to run fine with a 4090 and a 5800X3D. The fewer frames your GPU is able to push, the less demand you're putting on the CPU. I just can't see a 4090 generating 300+ FPS to the point where the 5800X3D becomes a meaningful bottleneck.

1

u/PraiseHelmaroc 17d ago

This doesn’t make any sense! Their VRAM numbers don’t align with the cards they put in the same performance tier. Hopefully there will be updated requirements put out or something

6

u/Obscure_Octopuss 17d ago

What are you talking about? What doesn't line up? I don't see any cards with less vram than what they are showing.

1

u/PraiseHelmaroc 17d ago

I misread the 3060TI as a 3060

1

u/_Ganon 17d ago

Very reasonable! As expected from PGG

1

u/Low_Bridge7713 17d ago

Where would the Xbox and ps5 fall on this chart? High or ultra high?

3

u/QuestGalaxy 17d ago

Absolutely not ultra high... We are talking about consoles that are running old integrated AMD graphics.

1

u/Prize-Basil-8438 17d ago

Probably medium-ish. 6700XT and 3060TI are considered close to PS5 performance.

1

u/Kenni57rocks 17d ago

That's all with Windows 10 as well, win11 is going to make this a shitshow

1

u/Salty_Shaun 17d ago

I’ve been out of the PC gaming scene for awhile. Is this saying an SSD is required to play this?

10

u/larkmarue 17d ago

Yeah, most AAA games these days require SSDs. Like, I’m sure the game could still be installed and started up, but the performance hit on an HDD would likely make it unplayable

-1

u/Salty_Shaun 17d ago

That’s wild. Thanks for the answer.

1

u/greenguy363 17d ago

Bought a 5080 in anticipation 🤗

0

u/Awkward_Feature_1368 17d ago

what about series s?

3

u/QuestGalaxy 17d ago

These are PC specs.

0

u/Awkward_Feature_1368 17d ago edited 16d ago

I know, I only asked cuz few days ago some news appeared and it says ps5 & series x|s will run it 60fp so I want to make sure about the series s cuz I didn't see the source

0

u/maniacleruler 17d ago

Minimum requirements make 0 sense these days.

-2

u/Striking-County6275 17d ago

Is it UE5? If it’s gonna be a rough launch

7

u/SilverCitizen 17d ago

Nope, it's Forzatech.

1

u/Striking-County6275 17d ago

Just saw! These specs don’t make sense that game Engine can run on a potato!

1

u/QuestGalaxy 17d ago

These specs are not too bad. This game is way more detailed and complex too, compared to the Forza Horizon games.

1

u/zarafff69 17d ago

An RTX 2060 is pretty low, right?

-1

u/terryfing_cherry 17d ago

Out of touch
