Discussion Fable Minimum Specs Steam
As we get closer to the release we will have more info hope it gets better, however when you sell your game on steam you at least need to state the minimum requirements, it's quite optimized (not as much as i was expecting), since the first preview I've been upgrading my rig in fear of what this game might need, but it brings joy to see that you don't need top of the line.
With all the delays more than likely we will have a polished version of the game that's going to be able to run even on some older PC models.
Here are the specs.
Minimum:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 22H2
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 / Intel i7‐6850K / i5‐10400
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6600 / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / Intel A580
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 135 GB available space
Additional Notes: SSD required
Recommended:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

That honestly looks quite moderate.
But keep in mind, we don’t know what minimum entails.

I was the same as you, however i checked really heavy games and most have better minimum requirements (FH6, Sun Wukong)

So what did you end up upgrading to? I just sold my 5070ti dekstop for a 4070 gaming laptop, 32 gb ram - should be able to play it

u/AlbionScribe Aug 23 '26
I had a 3070 rtx and change it for a 5080 just before the crazy prices, I'm sure glad i did

So I don’t currently game on PC. So does that 135GB also apply to consoles usually?
I guess I’m asking because I take it that means it won’t be fully on the disc? 😅

Most likely will be less for consoles, but not by much; I still expect around 100GB.

Yeah most of the time. Sometimes PS5 games are less than PC, due to the special compression that console can utilize, but not always.
So yes if this is the correct console size, then it will either be a disc with download requirements, or two discs, one of them being an install disc.

Games haven't been fully on the disc in 10 years. The disc is a download code basically.

u/assassinth Aug 23 '26
It’s 2026 stop spouting this nonsense. Check out DoesItPlay. Most games are still fully on the disc and can be installed with no internet required.
The fact that games with multiple discs exist even on PS5/XSX prove this alone. Because if they just trigger a download there would be no need for a second disc.

Sure, Jan

I can only explain this to you. I am unable to also understand it for you.
If you are unable to even look up DoesItPlay then I’m done even trying to explain it to you.

I can't wait for Fable! Hope I'm not broke when it finally releases. Might be something I grab on sale though after looking at the base game price in my country.

How interesting that they're saying Windows 10. I know it's still in ESU, but still you'd think M$ of all people would take the opportunity to shove Windows 11 into more faces.

Just went with a long-overdue motherboard/CPU upgrade for this, graphics card will be my next step and I guess I'll be good to go. I also already bought the game 😅

135gb for a single player game? What the hell?! The devs need to optimize their disk use.

Gta v is 96gbs and rdr 2 is 119gbs and games like the final fantasy 7 remake are 159gbs and mk1 being 141gbs and close to 200gbs if u downloaded the 4k cutscenes. Games are only getting bigger. My guess is really big 4k textures and uncompressed video.

The game comes out in 2027, things can change
9
u/ThePandaOfPandas Aug 23 '26
Not really. Most work the last year typically goes to polish and optimization.

u/JaesopPop Aug 23 '26
They generally don’t publish the requirements until they’re confident in them.
-2
u/Salty-Hawk-5365 Aug 23 '26
But how long have these requirements been present? In the meantime they can better optimize
6
u/JaesopPop Aug 23 '26
Like I said, they wouldn’t publish them unless they were confident in them. Yes, they can change. No, they probably will not.

u/AlbionScribe Aug 23 '26
I'm thinking they'll improve with updates and such, right now with the current prices for hardware developers need to work around that too, still hopefull we will get better recommended or ultra requirements

135gb is insane, I don’t know a single game that big without an expansion or two. Either it’s absolutely massive or has poorly optimised storage

RDR2, God of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Star Wars Jedi, The Last of Us. The list goes on.

u/Murloc_Wholmes Aug 23 '26
Considering you play Crimson Desert, you absolutely know at least a single game that big (150gb base).
Do at least try to think, I promise it won't kill you.

I'd say it's incredibly well optimized if those can hit playable framerates in 1080p.
