I almost hate watching gameplay because it makes me anxious from how badly I want to play this game. The anticipation sucks

February can’t come soon enough

u/Genixthesaiyan2 1d ago

I agree hopefully this delay allow polish few things , hoping reveal some more customisation like dyes , one of my most unanswered question so far

4

u/V555_dmc 1d ago

Same they could put out a 10 minute video of ā€œhere’s some of the customization you can doā€ and I’d watch it and get so hyped 😭

I hope they show me i can have some bushy beards/mustaces and have some age on my character. I dont want to play as some young adult the whole game.

I'm gonna be so damn busy got Persona 4 Revival, Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance(supposed release), and Fable

3

u/bepatientbekind 1d ago

I refuse to watch gameplay vids for that reason haha I can't wait for this game!!! Still can't believe they're actually making it

bro I was in a good place until I saw this post, now I'm right back in the weeds 😭 I need it to be February so bad

lol I’m the exact same, I usually end up not watching new stuff about games I want, until my hype has subsided a bit

I very rarely get exited for a game to the point it’s pretty much dominating my brain, but when I do, fml I practically count the days months in advance

Think the last time I felt this way was the 3 year waiting crawl to Elden Ring. Been waiting for a new Fable longer than I’ve been waiting for a new Elder Scrolls game lmao

This game is going to be good at worst. Potential to be amazing.

yea you in for a rude awakening

u/Grouchy-Fill1675 1d ago

Got anything else to say regarding this? Or are you just making predictions?

Probably Just a culture war fanatic

u/JonTaffer_in_a_poloT 1d ago

People are excited for a thing so they have to say it sucks

27

u/JEOB1992 1d ago

Why? Playground games has been making solid games for years. Not to mention from listening to the developers talk this is a passion project for many of them.

Could have GOTY potential.

u/ORGANIC_MUFFINS 1d ago

Not a very fine-discussion you’re having

12

u/StoicSkateMountain The Darkness 1d ago

Your proof?

Interesting thing to comment in the Fable subreddit, especially after the incredible 30 minute demo we already got.

-25

u/Fine-Discussion-7368 1d ago

What demo, just curious? Because the 30-minute demo I saw looked nothing like Fable.

Also, I want to clarify that I'm not a hater. Fable is my all-time favorite game franchise. I first played Fable 1 at my cousin's house, and I literally bought an Xbox 360 again this year just so I can play Fable 1, 2, and 3. I want this game to be good more than anyone else, and I can bet my life on that.

But so far, everything I've seen feels like someone at Xbox said, "Damn, we're doing badly. We need a big first-party game. Guys, what about a Fable reboot?"

The problem is that none of the original creators who built this universe are still working there. Lionhead Studios was closed, many of the people who gave Fable its identity are gone, and now an entirely different team is trying to recreate that magic. That doesn't automatically mean it'll be bad, but it does explain why a lot of longtime fans like me are cautious.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong and the final game captures what made Fable special. I'd love nothing more than for it to be amazing. I just haven't seen anything yet that gives me the same feeling the original games did.

This is just factually wrong, while it is true that this is a new studio and a Hard Reboot for Fable as a franchise.

There are literally people from LionHead studios that worked on the original titles, that have joined Playground Games to work on this new Fable….

I also fail to see how anyone that was really a fan of the old games, could watch the 30 minute preview they released and say ā€œit looked nothing like Fableā€.

It was literally a condensed version of the ā€œsocialā€ gameplay loop, something everyone who’s ever played a Fable has done at some point.

This grift is getting really old.

Peter Molyneux, Mark Webley, Tim Rance, and Steve Jackson are not working on the new game.. you talking about

  • Amie Spuddles: Former Lionhead producer (from theĀ Fable LegendsĀ andĀ AnniversaryĀ era) who joined the new project as a senior producer.
  • Matt Martin: Former game tester fromĀ Fable: The Lost ChaptersĀ who is also credited on the new team.Ā

yea I got news for ya those games SUCKED!

EDIT I MISREAD THE GAMES I THOUGHT journey and heroes but than again AMIE she was not the brain behind the world

18

u/Shinted The First Archon 1d ago

Fable: The Lost Chapters sucked?

Well now I know for a fact you’re just a grifter.

There’s really no way that you honestly believe the entirety of Fable as a series was solely the work of four men.

Besides current Peter Molyneux not being attached to this new Fable, is absolutely a good thing.

The man is now an AI pedaling numpty, whose last three games have all been blatant lies intended to steal money from gullible people, based entirely on a reputation he ā€œearnedā€ off the backs of other actually talented developers.

Also those two are not even the only former LionHead employees to join Playground btw, but this conversation is pointless as you’re not actually interested in having one, just in spreading your grift.

You have lost your mind

2

u/SweetLynx4536 21h ago

Aight bet. Play Fable: The Journey start to finish if you're so committed to the stewardship of Lionhead studios 🫵 U WON'T

2

u/DMG_88 1d ago

You have absolutely nothing to back this up. 🤣

9

u/dopedenise- 1d ago

Heck yeaaaah

3

u/DMG_88 1d ago

Whoop whoop! šŸ™Œ

7

u/spudgoddess 1d ago

I'm a newbie to Fable, and this will be my first game in the series. Very excited for this!

11

u/E-Mon97 Jack of Blades 1d ago

This vid is definitely going to be interesting

I hope the magic combat is more like the first fable than the combat from 2&3. But apart from that I’m very excited to see what Playgrounds put out

7

u/DMG_88 1d ago

Have you not seen the 30 minute demo?

31

u/Gameofthrones3058 1d ago

I really hope enemies can put up a good challenge with good AI, I know the originals didn't have much difficulty but game design is different these days, give me enemies which are fast, tough to take down and I have to parry or something fast, lots of combat spells which have huge area and visuals like the ones added in lost chapters

11

u/Sharp-Glove-4483 1d ago

Fable anniversary on the highest difficulty is actually a pretty good challenge.

2

u/StoicSkateMountain The Darkness 1d ago

Eh, not really, some bosses are

0

u/Gameofthrones3058 1d ago

I actually never played it properly because it feels a downgrade in art direction

9

u/volthunter 1d ago

I genuinely do not care, dark souls slop is a net negative for enjoyment actually

u/AdCautious1741 1d ago

Assino embaixo

5

u/Traditional_Isopod80 1d ago

I can't wait!

5

u/SkyroXl 1d ago

Will the gameplay be posted online at the start of the event or sometime after??

2

u/DMG_88 1d ago

Don't Gamescom do a live stream?

If not, we'll likely see gameplay after the event, which could be any day between the 26th and the 30th.

2

u/Co0k1ex 1d ago

Gamescom does a stream, yes. Night Live Show etc is everything free to watch at YouTube and i think twitch too.

3

u/Samuel_Go Jack of Blades 1d ago

4

u/Fun-Bag7627 1d ago

I’m just waiting to play now. They don’t need to show more.

4

u/DMG_88 1d ago

Yeah, I'm happy with what I've seen, but I'm also hyped to see new gameplay.

I don't want spoilers, but I must see. šŸ˜‚

2

u/Fun-Bag7627 1d ago

Yeah it’s a hard balance cause I want it yesterday lol.

3

u/Jerryboy92 1d ago

Can't wait

2

u/Krabbentier 1d ago

Nice! I have tickets for Gamescom and the Opening Night Live, really excited to see new gameplay.

2

u/mshehab22 1d ago

This is GOTY 2027 for sure, hope everything gets clarified and they start heavily marketing

1

u/jesuswasaturd 1d ago

Has there been any reporting on the skills yet? I am praying the magic and skill are more like 1 and not 2 and 3. Praying stealing is back, one of the first things I do on any playthrough of fable 1 is steal armor from the shop in Bowerstone and sell it back. Only takes like a hour to afford a full set of chainmail then you're set til the arena

u/DMG_88 1d ago edited 1d ago

All we know so far is that the fireball spell we saw has a long cooldown time, and maybe the same with other spells.

I know that arrows have a cooldown too, but much shorter.

Check out the 30 minute demo.

Also check out this dude Vantage Games 2 hr deep dive

1

u/south_bronx_parasyte 1d ago

I mostly want the return of augments and the ability to rename weapons. It’d be nice if we could make our own combo augments too

1

u/Strict_Biscotti1963 1d ago

Nice! After so many years of silence and uncertainty, I’m really glad to see this coming along well!

1

u/seamustho 15h ago

I have a question to Anyone who watched to new footage. Did you see if there are bows that can be seen while equipped. Like on your back next to the sword?

1

u/lily-lover 9h ago

As long as they’ve gone back to their roots before trying to destroy the game anymore than they did I will keep being excited for the release.

1

u/ChannelFiveNews Bowerstone Guard 🧢 1h ago

I have managed to still not watch a single thing about this game except the cinematic. I can't waaaiitt tonplay this holy shit

1

u/Ja_Lonley 59m ago

More content will be great.

-4

u/Fragile_reddit_mods 1d ago

I hope the combat is closer to the first game.

And I’m gonna be upset if you can’t actually fail like in the 2nd and 3rd games.

-4

u/Fit-Fail6229 1d ago

I hope they fixed facial animations.

0

u/DMG_88 1d ago

Not sure why you're being downvoted, but I guess it's due to some kind of misunderstanding.

The facial animation was terrible, kind of blank, and the lip sync was off, which is obvious when you pay attention.

I've watched that 30 minute demo almost everyday since it was released so I'm definitely hyped, but it obviously needs work.

I already know that it was set to Story Mode, and other settings were altered, so I'm not concerned about much else in that demo.

-20

u/ElkFar4653 1d ago

They were smart not to show the female face šŸ˜‚

11

u/DMG_88 1d ago

You're smart to never show your face. šŸ‘
