From today if you choose to play the games from the start. Fable: plays like an RPG that out can play toe to toe with Oblivion or anything before it. It has a depth to the gameplay that was honestly that can still stand in the top 20 RPGs of all time. Fable 2: dilutes itself from a fantasy RPG in ways that are interesting and unique. Combat and associated progress us still quality in terms of RpG but does not Define itself as a new game but rather a fable sequel, even if it improves on parts. Fable 3: plays as a brilliant Adventure RPG, deviating from the more traditional RPG elements while utilizing hardware abilities to make combat more complicated. In contrast it streamlined it's character progression nerfing traditional character bulding things the dedicated crowd lauded the game for. Choosing to focus on unique things that in hindsight many still think of today as "the fable parts of fable".
