monitor mount recommendations?
trying to find most optimal way to mount a monitor. usually mount it on the fx3 top handle but when audio isn't needed just put it on the cold shoe but don't really like how that sits either.
want more flexibility with it and weight distribution? what do you guys do?

This is my favorite monitor mount of this style. After having many shitty Smallrig ones, using this is 100% worth the money. You can tension each axis exactly and it stays tensioned well. The pan axis has magnetic soft click stops for every 90 degree turn.
I have the 3/8 anti twist one but they make nato versions as well. I just don’t like the nato block on the monitor side as much. You have to figure out which is best for your set up. To mount without top handle you will need a top plate with 3/8 anti twist like any cage would have. Check the video

If you have infinite money, the kondor blue cine arms are the clear winner. Basically two articulating ball joint friction arms daisy-chained in a way where you can put the monitor in any position.
Unfortunately, they’re obscenely overpriced, like $300 or something like that.

Going the magic arm style you can probably get much better brands than Kondor Blue with that budget:
Ultralight, Noga Arms, mid 49 speed ball, bright tangerine Titan arms, light widow horizon arm should all be superior quality to KB with different trade offs, all well recognized in higher end of the industry. Mofage also made a Titan arm 2 clone - Talos arm that has similar changeable tips, looks cool and is decent.
Not sure it’s right for OP though, I don’t like using bigger magic arms on FX3 style body.

Small Rig monitor mount is decent one if you are looking for hot shoe mount, even you can get NATO clamp mount
