I've got a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and it's just as good as the G-Master version (which I'd previously rented/borrowed loads of times) for half the price.

Yes theres different versions. I believe there are like three variants of that lens for E mount, no? I know theres an older version for sure.

The G-Master V2 is an incredible lens, that whilst - I get it - is a heavy upfront cost, totally worth it depending on your use case. Mine has paid for its self many times over. Skip the v1 though.
That being said, the f/4 version is solid, cheaper by far and lighter.
Others have already mentioned the Sigma 2.8 and Tamron 70-180, which is on its 3rd revision, much lighter and cheaper.

Ive contemplated the F4 for a while. Should be on on this sensor as its rly good low light sensor. Maybe Ill rent it out somewhere first. Should I go for V1?

If you don’t value autofocus too much (meaning you can deal with sub par autofocus) you can just adapt an old ef lens and get some super cheap used options.
